Dr. Kharram Wadud, MD

Dr. Wadud was quite thorough with me in his exam. On the first visit, he felt it necessary to take a sample of my thyroid and later explained why he did that. Very trustworthy!

Quick, professional, painless. Also the ultrasound tech is very good.

I have been seeing another doctor in this practice at the Universoty Blvd location and never had a bad experience. Changed offices due to personal location change and went for my first office visit at the Fleming Island location. A completely different experience!rom Univ office! Had to wait over an hour just to be put in a room (never over 15 minutes prior). Then someone came in and said there was another patient before me so she took me out of the room and I sat in a chair right at the checkout/ appt counter. Back in room, MD came in and discussed my labs. I am diabetic. He never checked my heart/ lungs, thyroid, or feet. Never even touched me. Always had these checks by prior MD. Discussed a new injectable Rx and I told him I would need the newer more expensive med request to go to Caremark mail-in pharm. Had told the nurse already that I needed some diabetic supplies and that I get them through Medicare (free). Found out the next day that the new med req went to Caremark, but they… couldn't fill it because the directions were missing. The diabetic supply Rx was also sent to Caremark, costing me $80 in copay! I could not stop the mailing. The additional supply Rx was never sent to anyone. Called to speak with the office manager who was not there. Was promised she would be given the msg and would call me the next day. When I hadn't heard from her by noon, called and got the ans service who said they were all at a meeting. This was Friday and they were to be out the rest of the day. Still haven't been able to talk with her. Will never go back to this practice again!

Dr. Wadud is well educated and caring. His diagnosis was right on the mark. I see him for thyroid issues and he makes sure my levels are always checked and that I am on the right med. he also knows how to make his patients feel comfortable.

I knew after visiting my primary care doctor for refills of my Synthroid, and checking thyroid hormone levels levels, and saying in so many words I was fine and just a hypochondriac after complaining about being tired all of the time that something was wrong. So, instead of waiting for my former, inconsiderate, primary care physician, I decided to take the reins and call for an appointment with Northeast Florida Endocrine and Diabetes Associates. I got scheduled with Dr. Wadud, and of course, with any specialist you have to wait to get in. It was definitely worth it - even the bit of time with follow-ups I spent in the office hanging out waiting for a check-up, since he's a busy man. I've had thyroid problems since right after I hit puberty, starting with Graves' disease, and having to be treated with radioactive Iodine TWICE to annihilate it, then having the serious hypothyroidism that succeeds it. When I go in for an exam he has a friendly, quiet and relaxed demeanor. My first exam… he asked me the usual questions about what I was feeling, and started off by feeling around my thyroid gland in my neck. He noticed I had a nodule, which is pretty common, and wanted to take a biopsy of it just to be on the safe side. Unfortunately, it turned out to be cancerous, but I was immediately (2 months) booked for a surgery to remove it. Since then, I'd been going back for check-ups and to have a neck scan once a year. I'm well now, and am due for another check-up. I highly recommend him to everyone that has any type of thyroid disorder, especially since he helped save my life.
