Dr. Khursheed Khanum Khine, MD

Doctor Khine was the only health professional that understood my mental health issue and diagnosed an additional one based on her experience with me. She is very intelligent and seems to be highly cerebral, so I think that is what people pick up on when they describe Doctor Khine as cold and not empathetic. I have been a patient of Dr. Khine's for quite awhile and there have been a time or two out of many, many visits that she may have been emotionally distant, but I chalked it up to her perhaps going through something, as we all do. No one is 100% the same all the time and perfection is an unattainable pursuit. But I do feel her concern and that she cares about doing what is right for me. So, in my opinion, some of the reviews I have seen are unfair, misinformed, misunderstanding Ms. Khine, and not seeing her for who she is. Also, some psychiatrists focus on medication management more than therapy, under certain circumstances. If you are someone who wants a more… therapeutic approach perhaps you could tell her and see what she is able to do for you. Communication is always better than making assumptions or bashing someone out of frustration. As a service professional myself I know how difficult it can be, so I hope that others who have had wonderful experiences, just as I have, will submit their positive reviews. She deserves it!

Just awful.

She's the worst

The comments I read on here about Khursheed being cold and uncaring make total sense. I have tried to contact her for weeks to make an appointment with no answer and no return. I have recently found out she's not accepting new patients which I guess is why she now refuses to communicate with anyone. Not accepting patients is fine, but not putting that in the voicemail and not contacting people that clearly need help is obviously against the oath that she took. In the end I guess I'm lucky it didn't work out.

Cold personality. Lacks empathy. Elitist. Self serving. Callow.

She was not very kind during our appointments. There always seemed to be a divide in which she made me to feel childish and weak. In all fairness I should say she refused to continue counseling because she felt I drank alcohol too much, to which I may harbor less than great feelings about. However I would like you to imagine being fired, sacked or canned by your own therapist, even after you have expessed to her abandonment issues. It's hard enough to admit you need help. In my opinion she is not worthy of trust.

Awful experience. Glad to have found a new doctor.
