Dr. Kim Abson, MD

Dr. Abson is a fantastic doctor. She is able to diagnose problems that have stumped many others. Her treatments are always appropriate and they work. She is always on time and always gives me a written review of what she found and what she did. I have been her patient for many years and can say that she is truly the best. Her staff is wonderful too. Barb and Cristy are super responsive and the three of them are a great team. I feel very fortunate to be in her care.

I saw Dr. Abson over the course of about 4 months. Her various treatment plans ruined and traumatized my skin. She did not take the time or effort to identify a suitable treatment plan for my acne and instead prescribed harsh retinoids and cortisone creams. Due to the extreme sensitivity of my skin, I have now developed perioral dermatitis and require antibiotics and approx. 6+ weeks of recovery because of her careless prescriptions. Chronic use of steroid creams on sensitive, rosacea and acne-prone skin causes the skin to become red, irritated and also develop dilated blood vessels on face which is PERMANENT damage that I cannot afford to fix via laser therapy. I would highly recommend Dr. Young at Seattle Associates of Dermatology. She quickly recognized the problem and took me off retinoids/steroids to soothe my skin and get it back to its healthy state. Dr. Abson seems irritated by patients, barely spends a 10 minutes with them, and seems annoyed everytime you ask a question. I… understand that dermatologists deal with much more life-threatenning problems such as skin cancer, but treating acne is also an integral part of dermatological practices and should be treated with care, instead of blindly pushing pharmaceuticals without individualized treatment. I would not recommend Dr. Abson for acne care.

Dr Absom has been my dermatologist for 12 years. I first went to her when I had a questionable blemish on my nose. She removed cancer from the top of my nose, where there is very little flesh to work with. I don't have a visible scar from that procedure, and she obviously removed all of the cancer, as that was several years ago and it has it has not returned. She is very accurate, careful, and a perfectionist in her practice. As a side note, Dr Absom is a very caring, lovely person.

the total time i spent in the poly clinic after getting to her office was 10 mintues max. her medical assistant writes the Rx and she signs it. I beleive it was 2 mintues she spends with me each visit for accutane. I get the same visit each time. She wont address more then 1 issue at a time- meaning i have to keep paying high co pays to see her. She didnt inform me about the side effects of the medication fully.If you dont care about anything but clear skin have money to spare see her...if not perhapes look for a different derm.
