Dr. Kim P. Bolton, MD

Dr. Bolton was thorough in his examination and explanations. He asked lots of questions and answered mine. He was very personable.

This doctor prescribed my 46-year-old husband, who is under fertility treatment (which Dr. Bolton could have known considering the clomid on his RX chart), prednisone. Overall, I think that steroids should not be a first-line prescription for sciatic pain that started just 1.5 weeks ago. I understand some research shows it can help but a please look at the pt history and ask questions if needed (“what is the clomid for?” Would have been a good one). Not all patients volunteer all information which is why a good diagnostician will ask the right questions and review the patient history including any medication and specialists they’re seeing.

My husband saw him after hours for a hernia. Granted, yes, this was not an emergency but he was so rude and took no time to answer any questions. Simply stated that those could be asked of the surgeon. He even said "I've had 2 myself", but again refused to give anymore information other than there are 2 kinds and offered no explanation about what that meant either. He was very condescending in the way he spoke to us. Definitely would never recommend this physician.

I visited Dr. Bolton for the first and last time in 2009. I had gotten something in my eye and was in pain. I have no doubt that he is a very knowledgeable physician; however, he was mean to me. As he was examining and attempting to remove the object from my eye, he became frustrated and verbally abusive (condescending)toward me because I was having trouble not involuntarily blinking. He accused me of not trusting him!!! I couldn't help it; I have never worn contacts and am not used to things coming near my eye. I apologized to him and promised to "try" harder but he gave up with less than 5 minutes of trying. He refused to help me and instead sent me to another clinic down the street (an eye specialist -- which was "overkill" for my situation) where I had to pay another co-pay. I am a registered nurse and I would absolutely never do anything to make my patients feel like a failure the way he did me that day.

Dr. Bolton is very knowledgeable, concerned, and approachable. He even took the time to call me the day following my appointment to see how I was doing.Another impressive doctor from ARC far west.
