Ive seen Dr Barrie twice and each time she was professional and took care of me.

I had non-surgical hand procedures done twice by Dr Barrie which always is recommended before resorting to surgery. She kept saying over and over "I'm a surgeon and this is only an office visit", as if to say she wasn't getting paid enough. After hearing her say that 3 times I was quite annoyed. She may be a great surgeon but her comments were very unprofessional. Now that I do need surgery I'm looking elsewhere!

After waiting almost an hour in the waiting room, she spent less than two minutes with me. She didn't even review my MRI results, and when that was pointed out to her-as she was racing out the door to be done with me, she stumbled over her words, left, and a few minutes later, stuck her head back in the room to say that even though the MRI said there was a tear...blah, blah. Basically, she stepped out, reviewed the MRI she hadn't before seeing me, and then she tried to justify herself. She didn't even see my for my second visit, when I was told she would be seeing me. Her PA spent the same amount of time with me, ALMOST NONE, and he put his thumb on my hand and said, "Seems fine." That was it. Occupational therapy office couldn't believe nothing more had been said or done. Very dissatisfied, especially on both visits after waiting over an hour to be seen.

After traveling an hour and waiting 2 hours I was very let down with Dr. Barrie. The office staff was great but I left the office not knowing anymore about what was causing my finger pain as when I got there. She looked at my finger for about 30 seconds and speculated what could be wrong with it. Are you kidding me???. I'm not a Dr. but I could of done the exact same thing. I guess anyone can be a Dr. nowdays. I complained to the office manager and he said that "I had seen the best Dr. they had" ...WOW, would of never guessed it. I wasn't looking for a "miracle" or a "quick fix" , just someone who would hear me out and give me their medical opinion on how to remedy my finger pain/problem. Dr. Barrie might be a good surgeon but if she can't do the basic simple things in patient care( listen, explain path forward, etc..) then I'll waste no more of my time and money ever seeing her again.

Dr Barrie tends to lose a star here and there for not being sugary or sufficiently huggy toward patients. OK, I've seen that cool, all-business side but also the joker side. So, even if she happens to have her "game face" on during your appointment, do not doubt that she is a superbly talented healer, and that you could not be in better hands. Straight truth. Besides, you can always get a hug later.

I left without a diagnosis, feeling like not all possibilities were reviewed. The doctor was very rushed and the visit followed her script, without me getting a word in edgewise. One of the worst doctor visits I have ever had.

Dr. Barrie did not help me at all. The pain is just as bad as when I went to her the first time. It has been 9 weeks since my injury. Her answer was wear the splint, rest it and taking Tylenol since it's probably a "sprain." She has no bedside manner. I will follow up with a different doctor.

Dr. Barrie was quick to identify and treat my problem. She explained in detail the treatment and result to expect.

I have been a patient of Dr Barrie's since 2006 she has performed a total of three surgeries & now I'm look at maybe a fourth one. This Dr is everything to me other than God she's patient understanding & straight to the point. I have recommended her to many and will continue too. I'm scheduled with a Dr for my procedure but now that I have found Dr Barrie I'm canceling and taking the two hour drive to see her.

Dr Barrie operated on my hands for 3 separate problems a year apart. She was very pleasant and professional during visits including the pre-op. I have had full recovery and use of my hands. She will always be my first pick.
