Dr. Kimberly A. Bonar, MD

The doctor that cared for me has carried for me for quite some time. I follow up here here From her Fairfield office that she closed. She is so personable even if I had to pay out-of-pocket I would I love the care that she gets. She always makes you feel ease.

Dr.Bonar has cared for me for over 30 years. She is the best. She listens to my issues and either solves them or makes recommendations. She is empathetic and caring. She always has a great bedside manner.

She explained everything and was very thorough.

Dr. Bonar is very patient friendly. She is also very knowledgeable. I have been seeing her for a long time.

Very rude and condensing. All of my questions aggravated her. Then in turn she would ask me a question and not give me time to answer it. She took lightly of my concerns and scoffed at research I had spent years researching with the help of other doctors due to my own personal ailments. I felt like I clearly didn't mater possibly because I was not an OB patient and dealing with menopause issues. But if you choose this profession you should care about all womans health issues. I left in tears and feeling ashamed when I hoped to get helpful answers. Not to mention that the exam triggered bleeding that I do not typically experience. I will add the office is always running late and requests a urine sample that they do nothing with, unless you are pregnant.

I definitely DO NOT recommend Dr. Bonar! She was very condescending during my appointment, and got offended when I told her that I wanted to take time to research treatments before I agreed to them. She told me that she was "the most reliable source of information" that I had, so I should just ask her my questions. She recommended that I go on hormonal birth control to regulate my menstrual cycles. I told her that I wasn't comfortable with the fact that hormonal birth control can cause miscarriages when it fails to prevent ovulation. She told me that my information was wrong, that hormonal birth control does not increase the risk of miscarriage. I've done a lot of research into this subject and so I know that it does (it thins the lining of the uterus so that if the birth control fails to prevent ovulation, and an egg is fertilized, the baby can't implant in the uterus). I explained this exactly to Dr. Bonar, in case she simply thought I was talking about miscarriage after… implantation. But she still insisted that my information was wrong. So I gave up trying, and told her that she could send me whatever information that she had, and I would read it and make a decision later. So she sent me the information...AND IT LITERALLY SAYS that one way the pill reduces the risk of pregnancy is by "KEEPING THE LINING OF THE UTERUS THIN" (a.k.a., if fertilization occurs the fertilized egg won't be able to implant in the uterus, a.k.a., it causes a miscarriage)! And that's not even all the problems I had with Dr. Bonar. In addition to lying to me and discouraging me from doing my own research, she was also very dismissive and condescending, and made me feel as if I had no right to question anything she said. I will NEVER go back to her again!

She doesn't deserve one star. She almost cost me my life.
