Dr. Kimberly Matlock, MD

We have chosen a new pediatrician for our 2 year old twins. The last time my son was very sick we took him to be evaluated by Dr. Matlock and she would not provide any medical treatment and told us that what he had was viral. I am a doctor and saw how ill my son was, including not eating and drinking appropriately. I pleaded with her to prescribe him medication for his symptoms of cough and persistent fever. She refused. My husband took him for a chest x-ray the following day and he was found to have PNEUMONIA. I do not recommend her to care for any of my loved ones.

This doctor is extremely homophobic. She was polite to me the first time she saw my child, but the next appointment I had my wife with me and she made a derogatory comment about our relationship in front of our child. In addition, the office was not clean and we waited over an hour to be seen.

I am shocked at the negative reviews of Dr. Matlock. My daughter, who is now 17, has been seeing her since she was two-weeks old. Dr. Matlock is kind, caring, and very thorough. She explains what she is doing to my daughter and engages her in questions and treatment options. We have had nothing but excellent experiences with her and her office staff. I highly recommend her!

I recently took my daughter to her 18month check up and she was seeing patients while testing positive with the flu. I ask myself who does that.

The office staff was nice, but they don't appear happy. (Bad sign) The office smells terrible. We were promptly brought back to a room, had some quick tests, and then had to wait 50 minutes before seeing another human being. (This was after I kindly let them know we were leaving in 10 minutes if we weren't seen. 10 minutes later - to the dot - we were seen.) The doctor brought lots of excuses about our experience but no apology or responsibility was taken. Terrible bedside manner. She didn't talk to my daughter (4 years old) while examining her for this first time. She seemed knowledgable but my daughter is still ill after 1 1/2 weeks, so we will now on the hunt for a new doctor. (Diagnose incorrect???) I don't see my kids or I being content with the office or the doctor. I would dread having to go because of my (now) low expectations. Sorry but we won't be back.

The office is busy, but we wait to see Dr Matlock because she is that good. She is very intuitive with great diagnostic skills. My kids have grown up seeing her & Dr Matlock & her staff have always been there when we need them.

The staff called us over and over and over to ask us to make an appointment, and it left us feeling pressured. We took my son to a different doctor one time and I told Dr Matlock's staff, and they acted upset that we took him somewhere else, and that was very uncomfortable. Her attitude is overbearing, and I usually dreaded going to her office.

This doctor is a complete quack. She was the physician on staff for the birth of my son. She had CPS called on my husband and I after we left the hospital 'against medical advice'. Our son was completely healthy and the only reason for her wanting us to stay another day is so he could be weighed and checked for jaundice. The nurse, on our behalf, asked if we could leave and simply come back the following day for the tests which would obviously take only a few minutes, but she refused. She also pressured us a great deal to administer the Hep B vaccine to our newborn son. We declined it, but we were still pressured SEVERAL times more given ridiculous false reasons for him needing it. This doctor is nothing more than a medical textbook regurgitating a bunch of crap, half of which is incorrect. She obviously does not have a brain or cannot think independently. I would NEVER take my child to someone that is so narrow-minded and ridiculous. By the way- I personally know some very… stupid and dangerous doctors out there. So for anyone that doesn't believe in questioning a doctor- think again!

Dr Matlock has been my childrens doctor since my son was 9 months old. My son was having issues with his muscle tone (rolling over, holding up his head)and his previous doctor at Fort Bliss never listened to my concern. Dr Matlock took one look at my son and knew something was wrong. Thankfully it is just mild hypotonia and he is a happy and healthy 10 year old. We are moving soon and will have to switch doctors which makes me really sad. We will surely miss Dr Matlock.

If you enjoy visiting the doctor's office over and over again, but really don't want to see much of the doctor while you're there, but want to come back frequently due to the inability to properly diagnos- this is your doctor! If it takes 3 visits to look at an ear infection- I'd hate to see this physician and her attitude laden nurse see a real issue.
