Dr. Kimberly Renee Mckanders

I had a very relieving experience visiting Dr. Mckanders. She listened to my medical history and understood what I have been going through and patiently talked about treatment options for me that other doctors never even thought to mention. I am very happy that I saw her.

I'm told Dr. Mckanders has left Reiter Hill, but after repeated negative experiences with her I'd urge any future patients to find another doctor. Her people skills are atrocious. She is rude, dismissive, and seems to be put out at having to actually speak with patients. She does not inspire confidence. Definitely not the right bedside manner for an obgyn.

The first year I went to her, she was fast, rude, and non caring and the worst Dr's visit I had ever had. I thought she may have been having a bad day so I decided to give here another chance. The second visit, I made a joke to break the ice and she was more personable and patient. The staff and wait time is excellent but Dr. McKanders needs a few more classes in time managment and bedside manners. Many people that come to see her have serious health problems and the last thing they need is a rude, young know-it-all Dr with no compassion. If she doesn't like what she does, she should find a new profession.

I can see why some people have strong feelings about Dr. McKanders's bedside manner. She's kind of fast talking and doesn't listen super well if you go on and on about a problem. But, she knows her stuff - and isn't that what we really care about? I credit her with immediately getting me off the pill when she recognized a potentially life-threatening complication. When some results came in, she personally called me on my cell and told me to stop taking the pill that day, and without my even asking she told me exactly what the problem was, what I should expect, and what the game plan would be for handling my problem down the road when I hope to get pregnant. Since then, she's been completely on the ball with my treatment. I'm crossing my fingers that I won't be high risk so that she can be my OB when I'm pregnant.For me, at least, I can handle her personality because I know that she knows what to do. I don't need a buddy, I need a doctor :)

Always makes time for questions and returns phone calls

Dr. McKanders is always listening and eager to offer suggestions. Amazing bedside manner - very professional, yet friendly and inviting. She is a wonderful OB.

I have never once left a pre-natal visit in floods of tears, but this woman managed to offend and distress me to the point where I simply could not bear to be in her room for one more minute. I will NEVER see her again and pray that she is not on call when my baby is due in a couple of months time.
