Dr. Kirk Michael Rousset, MD

He delivered me when I was a baby, and my first child. I just found out I was pregnant agin so I will be calling him today to set up a appointment. He actually took the time to talk to me and answer any questions I had. He never made me feel stupid about my question. His nurse is wonderful.

I have had three children, all from different doctors due to moving, and Dr. Rousset was a little more touchy than the rest. Every other doctor would get in and get out when it came time to check for dilation, even his residents were quick about it. When a woman is laying half naked and feeling really vulnerable, the last thing you want to do is be too feely. In the hospital, for checkout, he came in the room and tried to enter the bathroom when I was on the toilet. I don't care if he has seen my undercarriage already, I don't want him seeing me while I urinate! If this were my first go at this, I may not have taken it so personal, but it wasn't and I have other doctors to which I can compare. Maybe he needs to be a little more mindful of the patient's comfort and privacy. The nursing staff and residents were great!

Dr. Rousset is a very laid back doctor but he is TOO laid back. I had heart failure while trying to give birth because he left my baby in there way too long. He estimated my baby to be 6 lbs, 7 oz a week before I was due. The baby came out 8 lbs, 9.5 oz. Babies don't gain that much weight in the last week. My last appointment with him I went in crying telling him how much pain I was in and couldn't breathe and he sent me home. Scheduled an induction for a week later and I didn't make it. I'm 19 years old and have lived a very healthy lifestyle. He overlooked my high blood pressure and my sugar in my urine during pregnancy which lead to this. Will never go to him again. They had to transfer me out of Womens to Oschner or I would have died. I didn't get to see or hold my baby for 3 weeks while I was in CCU. Plus the weight time was TERRIBLE, every time. I was even called a couple of times on my way to the appointments for them to reschedule.

Dr. Rousset is never rushed and is always pleasant. He listens and is compassionate. Brooke, his nurse, is absolutely the best! What an asset to his practice!

I always feel safe and well taken care of with Dr. Rousset. He always makes me feel like he really cares about me and my family.

Excellent doctor and staff. Laid back style, but very knowledgeable.
