Dr. Kirsten Wilkins, MD

I originally went there was an anal fissure. I had an emergency where I suspected very bad hemorrhoids and called the office on Monday morning. I was told that there were no doctors there that week as they all went to a conference. I was given instructions on how to deal with my anal fissure and told to keep my appointment 2 months later. Two days later I complained and they made me an appointment for a week later. I also asked if the doctor could give me a call and I was told that it would take her a week to get back to me. I went to my appointment and I have thrombosed hemorrhoids and it was too late to treat them. I’m never going back to this doctor. I complained that she couldn’t even call me and she said that she guessed that she wasn’t entitled to a vacation. She is but the office needs to provide coverage for her in the case of emergencies.

Dr. Wilkins is a knowledgeable and caring physician. I have seen her operate and she has personally taken care of me as a patient. If u can get an appointment to see her for your colorectal needs; I strongly recommend her.

My gastroenterologist referred me to Dr. Wilkins for surgery to remove tissue around the polyp removed during a colonoscopy. I found Dr. Wilkins to be very personable. Her greeting was professional and warm. She spent a lot of time explaining the findings from my colonoscopy and what to expect from surgery and recovery. She answered all my questions, and I left feeling confident in her expertise.

I went for a consultation with Dr. Wilkins and was not able to receive a colonoscopy date until 3 months later. The time for the colonoscopy was changed 5 times when I finally cancelled the appointment. It is impossible to reach office staff; the phone is never answered in the scheduling department. This is an unfortunate way to run a medical office.

Did not listen to complaint of severe pain following surgery. I had infection, almost fatal.

Should have never let her convince me to have surgery and let her do it.

Dr. Wilkins is very approachable, pleasant, and competent.
