Dr Kiumars R. Hekmat, MD

I have been under the care of Dr. Hekmat for approximately thirty years. Not only is he a fine physician/surgeon, he's also a gentle and kind man, with a relaxed manner. One with a grand sense of humor. He's also cared for several friends over the years; not a single complaint from any of us. I am so unimpressed with this doctor. He was gruff and uncaring and curt. He flew in and out of the examining room with little time to explain anything to me. His choice of method of the TURP was not the best for me and left me with lifetime problems. He did not offer or explain other techniques and their pluses and minuses. Now that I'm seeing an actually competent urologist, I'm astounded at the difference. If any of my friends or family ever need a urologist, I'll steer them clear of this man.

Arrived early for my appointment. Took me in 30 minutes prior to my scheduled time. Dr. Hekmat was very professional. Took his time asking questions and listened to my answers. Bed side manner was outstanding. Did lab work on Friday and his office followed up on Monday morning with results.

Disappointing. Dr did not listen or allow me to explain my full symptoms before reaching his conclusion.

This office is remarkable difficult to contact for urgent appointments. I have to schedule a biopsy to determine if I have a cancerous growth and the office has not contacted me for two weeks. My phone calls go straight to voicemail, have not been answered and I'm not sure how else to schedule this urgent appointment

I was late for my appointment and arrived at 4:10 pm on a Wednesday. I was told he was gone and that I would have to reschedule. The receptionist walked away, obviously to talk to the doctor, and then she came back and said he was gone. He was obviously there but had no interest in helping me. This was for a 15 minute consultation which would probably take just five minutes. The doctor and the receptionist had no interest in helping and I believe they took satisfaction in turning me away as punishment for being late. Sorry, doctor, I can't just turn away customers where I work to hurry over to consult with the delicate genius!

Dr. Hekmat is a very good doctor. The staff was courteous and knowledgeable. I would recommend. Little bit of a wait.

I am no longer seeing DR Heckmat. But I did see him for three appts. Before finding another Urologist. I arrived early for my first appt. Dressed neatly ( as I feel it's important for the patient to make a good first impression on the new Doctor), and paperwork completed. I found him "dismissive, unconcerned, and generally...NOT INTERESTED in my problem of recurring UTIs." Since I was referred to him by my Internal Medicine specialist, who had the office next to Dr. Heckmat, I expected he'd be a bit more professional. He has since left that building, and I DO NOT SEE HIM ANYMORE, but I felt my experience was worthy of noting. I did see him for two follow up visits, feeling the first impression could have been colored by some internal problem in his office...so I gave him a chance. But! the experiences of the previous visits continued. I hope his new office staff is better, and he has changed his somewhat rude and dismissive attitude.

Dr. Hekmat may be a fine doctor, but my experience with him concerning my kidney stones was not a good one. He does not explain thing well, he is not a good listener, and, most importantly, he did not show any concern for my problem. It seemed like I was rushed. Consequently, he will not be included on my "good doctor" list.

I have a very good experience with him. I have been his patient for 1 year and found him a competent doctor in all aspects of his job.
