Dr. Kolawole O Oyelese, MD

Dr Oyelese is like a gentle giant. He was very attentive and professional. He even followed up while he was on vacation. He did my cerclage at 24 wks and I am at 33 werks thanks to him. We are so grateful for his technique and suggestions. I highly recommend him!!

It seems these days that webmd and google are the bain of most doctors' existence. Unfortunately I find that many combat against the self diagnosing by giving minimal information on an as needed basis. This is not the case with Dr. Oyelese. At my twenty week ultrasound they found a cyst on my baby's lung and I could not have had a better doctor to give me this news. Dr. Oyelese explained the possibilities from it disappearing through needing surgery. Walked me through the steps needed, the follow up we would do, what to look for, etc. He took out a text book and showed me why they thought it was what it was, what the other options were, and why they didn't think it was those, but what it would mean if it was. Basically he was incredibly thorough without being alarming, and I left there convinced that we were prepared and taking the right steps for any eventuality. There was no concern over something being missed but also no need to do additional investigative work as he treated my… husband and I like competent adults and participants in our baby's healthcare. It was refreshing and calming and I can't say enough how grateful I am that he was the doctor we were fortunate enough to meet with on this matter. Also not to be understated, he is also very responsive, follows up, and genuinely cares about his patients.

Dr Oyelese is one the best doctors I have met. He has all the attributes of a great doctor, he is skilled , knowledgeable, respectful, confident, caring and compassionate.One would feel that it is not a job to him but a passion. He has excellent bedside manner, is honest and forthright with his opinion and always gives you his best. He took his time explaining my condition , laid out the pros and cons of treatment options and worked with me through my concerns patiently. He continuously kept in touch with me throughout my pregnancy and even took time to visit my little girl after she was born. We were lucky to have met him , he saved my baby and today we are happy parents thanks to him. Yes I would highly recommend him.

After correctly diagnosing me with a life threatening pregnancy condition (placenta accreta), Dr. Oyelese and his team brought my daughter safely into the world and saved my life. I can't say enough about him. He gave me his personal cell number and responded immediately to my questions and concerns. In other less capable hands, I would not be here today.

I was diagnosed with a short cervix at 20 weeks. This was my first pregnancy and my husband and I were beyond scared. Doctor O. was amazing! He spent time with us to explain what was happening, what our options were and every possible scenario, He made himself available to us whenever we had a question or concern. He also kept in touch with us to check in and make sure things were going well. My husband and I believe that because we followed his advice we were able to carry my daughter to 31 weeks. She was born early but she is a happy and healthy (now 4 month) little girl. Doctor O. had explained that while not all doctors would recommend a cerclage in my case he would. He sat down with us and gave us all the pros and cons and left the decision to us. He would have continued to support us in whatever path we chose to take. My husband and I agreed that the cerclage seemed to be our best option. When I went in for the procedure I had been having contractions and I was 2… centimeters dilated. They were able to push the membrane back and successfully do the cerclage. The remainder of my pregnancy I was monitored by the maternal fetal medicine group that Dr. O. is affiliated with and they are all great doctors but Dr. O. is really something special. He even took time out to come to the NICU to visit us after our little girl arrived. We are grateful beyond words to Dr. O.

Dr. Oyelese is the most caring, thorough and conscientious doctor I've ever worked with. I had a high risk pregnancy. My first pregnancy ended in pre-term labor at 17 weeks. In a delicate and sensitive situation, he took the time to review my history, explore what could have been problematic in the past and to map out carefully possible paths forward to avoid future issues. He placed a cerclage for me at 15 weeks, which was removed at 37 weeks (the doctor removing it was very complimentary of his work). Dr. O is always honest and upfront about possible risks and rewards. I always feel he has time for me, treats me with respect and ensures that I understand all of the information concerning my treatment. He also follows up frequently and is such a patient, warm, trustworthy and caring doctor. Whenever I've had to go to the hospital, if he is there or hears I am there, he visits--though he is not my regular doctor, but a specialist. The staff and residents love him, which… says a lot about the kind of doctor he is and how he treats his colleagues. Dr. O gets a glowing endorsement from me!

Dr. O is professional, trustworthy, knowledgable and we are very lucky we had him!

Dr O was my doctor for less than a week but made a forever lasting impression on my family and I. I was 27 weeks pregnant under his care and even after I had left the area and went home to Arizona, Dr O continuously checked in on me via text and phone calls. I made it to 37 weeks and had a beautiful baby girl. Of course I sent Dr O pictures of little Sonora Isabel Rich. I wish all my doctors could be as kind and caring as he is.

Dr Oyelese is not only great at what he does but his bedside manor is amazing. If I had to choose again or recommend a doctor I the area of MFM, Dr Oyelese would be the one. He made our experience as special as it could be.

Extremely thorough, competent and compassionate. He makes you feel as if you're his only patient.
