Dr. Kristin Paula Fernandez, DO

My appt was scheduled for 4pm but because I was a new patient I was told to be there at 3:45. I showed up to my appt and was told by the front desk they would have to reschedule. I advised thats not what I was told and she said there is a lot of paper work and I said I filled everything out online and was advised there was more. I just drove 45 minutes (orange park) and allocated my schedule to make it here and be told to "reschedule" when I was told in correct information. That is poor customer service across the board. I told her I will find a new Doctor as this was not my mistake, but there's. whats sad is I use to be patient here 15 years ago and all my information was still in the system. If it requires that much paper work, processes need to change as well as finding competent staff who can advise correct information. No need for an email back!

I was disappointed initially when i first came to this doctor for numerous reasons...such as the main reason i came to this doctor was to get birth control for my pcos since the manufacturer had stopped making the one i was on. The doctor was rude and condescending...had the audacity to take my phone out of my hands and also was ultimately rude by stating the only way we could tell if i could have children was to “try”. She tried to prescribe me the SAME birth control i informed her was no longer being made which she called me and said you were right they stopped making it. I knew she when i first met her she really shouldnt be a doctor. However, i just sucked the appointment up as a loss. Had to see a different doctor to actually fix my problem. This is still not why im reviewing her office. Initially when i called and made appointment i made sure to ask before how much the appt would be. I paid roughly $200 WITH insurance for an appt that was awful...imagine my frustration when i… got a bill for AN ADDITIONAL $100. I called 3 times into billing over the past few months and even spoke to management who said she would take care of it. I just got ANOTHER INVOICE and now im livid. I spoke to the “office manager” misty who was rude and said that she had noted she called me but my vm was staticky. I asked her if she was aware id been having an issue and not happy why wouldnt she do a follow up call? I recommend ANY other doctors office. I dont think this office should be in business for all the issues listed above. Im quite disgusted that over months NOTHING has been solved.

I have been a patient of Dr. Fernandez for over 12 years. Friendly staff, convenient location, but most of all, she is an amazing doctor: knowledgeable, caring, honest and dedicated. She always makes me feel very comfortable, takes her time to answer all my questions. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Fernandez to all my friends and family.

Excellent Dr. She spends a lot of time with her patients, and explains things in great detail. She is not one of those in and out in 5 minute Drs.

For many years I complained to Dr. Fernandez about my heavy periods and pain, cysts, etc. I finally asked her if it was possible that I could have endometriosis and she said that I was too young, that I am just one of "those women". I was 35. One doctor later, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 endometriosis all over my internal organs and I am now infertile. I feel that if she would have taken me seriously instead of brushing me off I could be a mother today. Thanks for nothing.

From the moment I met Dr. Kristen Fernandez I knew it was a perfect match. She has a wonderful smile and an ease about her that made me feel comfortable. I have had to see her a number of times due to female issues. Not one time has she ever made me feel bad or like I was overreacting to my issues. I've called her crying and just showed up at the office one day crying...she stayed calm and made me feel that she truely cared about my needs. We finally made a plan for a total hysterectomy and I trust Dr. Fernandez completely.

She walked out the room during my last visit, a women's annual. She was so called frustrated bc I didn't feel comfortable trying her methods of birth control. It does not go with my beliefs. As if Im not entitled to my own beliefs. I went again to try and talk to her, since her office staff weren't answering my calls (i asked my mom to call and they answered her first attempt. I called four times..) ; they called security shortly after I got there - I was not rude consciously at all. I started crying, I didn't come in there for confrontation. I really needed a resolution to my medical issue. She was not willing to help at all. The next time I spoke with her, she nonchalantly called to tell me she could no longer be my doctor , due to her beliefs in "women empowerment" (which is ironically on her web site as a quote). Words can't express how unprofessional and cold this lady is. I cried so hard, I called a company to help me seek immediate help, because my doctor since high school had… abandoned me. I'm not a negative person, but I honestly don't want this cold lady to treat others like this. I have spoken to two doctors who both stated that was no way to treat a patient regardless of any scenario. I DO NOT recommend this office. I literally broke down in tears. This lady needs to be reported. I wish someone of higher authority could have witnessed her in action. This doctor is not personal and just a mean lady, I wonder what did I do to her to have her treat me so mean and cold..

Be careful, if you ask too many questions they may charge you more for your visit.
