Dr. Kristin Joy Shealey, MD

The good: prompt and fast appointment. I survived. The bad: I asked Dr. Shealey if she would recommend my employer provide me a standing desk at work as a preventative health measure for my back. She refused to consider giving the recommendation for two reasons that she told me: 1 - "It would essentially be a waste of money for your employer to buy you a standing desk." -Takeaway: Dr. Shealey cares more about saving money (roughly $160) for my employer than my future health. 2 - "My recommendation for standing desks are reserved for individuals with a history of back issues, and/or recently underwent back surgery." -Takeaway: Dr. Shealey would prefer that I first develop back issues and/or undergo back surgery rather than recommend my employer spend a small sum of money ($160) to prevent any issues that could arise from sitting at a desk for 7+ hours a day. I warn you, DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR. Dr. Shealey is a perfect example of what is wrong with the medical industry whereby… some medical professionals do not care about preventative care for their patients, and care more about money and future sources of revenue from health issues and surgeries. To top it all off, my interaction with Dr. Shealey felt as though I was interacting with a robot. The appointment was as if she was running a computer program. Dr. Shealey seemed to have little care about my health. I would leave 0/5 stars if I could. I am leaving this review because I care about the future of other people's health. If you want a doctor that cares, do yourself a favor, and go find another doctor.

It is very difficult to articulate just how bad I felt leaving an appointment with Dr. Shealey. If you are feeling vulnerable or are seeking legitimate, empathetic feedback from a doctor - Dr. Shealey is not for you. She is incredibly unengaged and made me feel really uncomfortable. It was honestly shocking how little it seemed she actually cared about what I was saying. There are plenty of primary physicians in Tempe, please do your research and be cautious in seeing Dr. Shealey. I would not recommend her to anyone.

Over reactive Doctor who is more interested in farming you out to other Doctors in Honor Health System than actually treating you. She is rude . I am a breast cancer survivor and she had the nerve to say Your mammogram can wait I’m Out of time with you . Forget you and Honor Health your system of health care stinks big time. Never again will I deal with Honor Heallth even if Imbleeding to death at the doorstep

She's such a good doctor and even good with me I'm a bit hardheaded but she's always polite yet stern when needed she's terrific in everyway Wyatt my grandson just loves her and is relax when we go to the doctor

Dr Shealey has been our family Dr. For over 2 yrs now and we are very happy with her as our family physician and could not have any one better we'll keep her thank you very much She's gotten to know both me and Wyatt and she takes that extra time to chat even though she's busy busy . We will stay with Dr Shealey and want her to remain our family physician even when I'm gone and Wyatt's in collage I hope!!!

Our first vsit...Dr Shealey makes you feel compelled are for and comfortable...Am very glad to have her as my Doctor...

Dismissive, not interested in her patients. Does not seem to really have any humanitarian passion. I hope she was just having a bad day. Given other reviews, seems to be typical.

Have been a patient of Dr .Shealey for about 5 years. Her "bedside manner" has never been great. However, she has become even more robotic during the past year so that I have come to dread going to the doctor. As mentioned in other reviews, Dr. Shealey does not seem to be listening to/hearing what I have to say or care about what I say. I also have found untruths in copies of office visit notes. There is almost never any follow up related to diagnosis or to the very few times I've left a message for Dr. Shealey or her assistant to return my call. Dr. Shealey is very quick at sending me to a specialist for almost everything. As a result, Dr. Shealey has become a specialist herself, in ordering blood/lab tests, writing prescriptions related to those blood test. I find it disturbing that I have to make an appointment and come in quarterly for a billed office visit for the sole purpose of Dr. Shealey ordering another round of blood/lab tests to be revealed/discussed at an… additional billed office visit. It is only after this quarterly process that Dr. Shealey will prescribe the next round of the same medications that she has been prescribing for me during the last couple of years . AT THIS POINT I AM SOOOO READY TO BAIL AND FIND A NEW DOCTOR!!!

Not recommend

The best thing is that it is easy to get an appointment. I don't think Dr. Shealey ever looks over your chart before coming into the room. She does no follow up. The office will not give information to your spouse or leave VM even though you have filled out the paperwork to give them permission. Therefore, if you work during the day you will play phone tag trying to get your results. I don't have confidence in her ability to diagnose. She will send you to a specialist and then never ask you what they determined was your problem. She seems disinterested and that is dangerous. A physician needs to understand the patient's history to make good diagnoses and also for preventative care. The feeling I get is she is too busy or maybe she just isn't that interested. I am going to find a new physician.
