Dr. Kristine Rae Santerini, MD

She was my doctor in 1995 for my second pregnancy. She told me and my husband I had a blighted Ovum (False pregnancy) and to schedule a DNC immediately. I refused and my child is now 23. My girlfriends thought I made it up. 2 months later my girlfriend came to me crying because she told her too she had a blighted ovum and needed an immediate DNC. I told her not to go. Her child now is a USAF fighter pilot.

I had never actually had an appointment with her in person but when I was 24 weeks pregnant, I had called the practice's emergency line because I was very concerned over a lack of fetal movement after several hours. She was the Doctor that I spoke to. I understand that she was on call and very busy but I was obviously very upset thinking that there was something terribly wrong with my baby. She was very short and made no attempt to hide her tone of being inconvenienced by my call. She basically said that I would be wasting my time by coming to get checked out.

Safe to say my entire experience with her and her staff was quite appalling & humiliating. It appears she made a clear assessment of what she thought was wrong with me for whatever reason. Was asked to take a bunch of tests that was likely tied to my accent rather than my complaints and insisted after all the tests came back negative, that I should go back to my general practitioner. She was not the 1st doctor I was seeing for this issue and I only went over to her practice because I just moved from another state but her clear disregard for my prior history and ignoring my complaints was quite distasteful. Her staff was clearly taking from her lead as they relayed the test results in the most condescending tone with the intent of just getting me off the phone & the practice. I was practically begging for a follow up which should be the norm since I still had these complaints but to no avail. I clearly made a big mistake making an appointment with this doctor and I implore others to… beware.

Dr. Santerini is the worst doctor I have ever encountered. I recently had a miscarriage and she later diagnosed me with an extremely rare and terrible disorder that other doctors have told me is actually completely impossible for me to have experienced because of my history! I had to go to Magee to get an accurate diagnosis (where they advised there is NOTHING wrong with me!). However, Dr. Santerini's diagnosis and later comments caused me two days of sheer panic and thinking I would never be able to have children and possibly have to have a hysterectomy. I have been going to Premier Women's Health for several years, and they were always fine. HOWEVER, I have never had a health problem until now. I want to warn everyone to stay away, as I received worse care than I could ever even imagine from this practice in the weeks after my miscarriage. The doctors were uncaring, never offered me any options of either having a D&C or natural miscarriage.. They never even offered a D&C, and then… didn't explain what horrors to expect with the natural miscarriage. I had to see a different doctor for every follow up visit, and none of them knew what was going on previously and were not on the same page. They never monitored my hormone levels after, and I have been told by numerous other doctors that this should always be done. I will never again have anything to do with Dr. Santerini or the other doctors in this practice. I would also recommend staying away from Sewickley Hospital, as the radiology department was also part of my completely inaccurate diagnosis.

Dr Santerini is so wonderful and very much a professional Dr. she is caring and VERY compassinate. I had a full hysterectomy in Feb and i could not ask for a better Dr or a support person she came back on a Friday night to let me know that my biopsy came back negitive. and my office visits afterwards with all the information she gave me and what to expect was to the "T" I will never go to another dr and would refer her to all.When her an dDr Krivak came out to talk to my husband they were so caring and both of their bed side manners are in a million.She made me feel very secure having this done.

I needed a hysterectomy and was referred to Dr. Santerini. She really took the time to explain things to me and made sure that I was comfortable with the process. The surgery went great and my incision is beautiful!!!! I highly recommend!!!!!

Dr. Santerini is curt, unhelpful, and unwilling to discuss anything.

Dr. Santerini just delivered my second child and what a wonderful experience!!! My first delivery at another hospital was horrible and traumatic. Dr. Santerini was caring throughout my pregnancy, always taking the time to answer my questions. She allowed my older daughter to find the baby's heartbeat during the visits (my daughter is asking when we are going back to see Dr. Santa!!!) During the delivery she was calm and competant. She is definitely my doctor going forward and I highly recommend her!!!
