Dr. Kurt Laurence Haupt, MD

Dr Haupt is an amazing doctor and knows his stuff. If you have any problems during pregnancy or delivery, he is who you want in the room with you. Wish I would of seen this sooner so I could of reviewed him sooner.

Dr. Haupt is not the warm cozy kind of doctor. He does know his business and deals very well with problems. I have had two c-sections with him. He is the doctor you want to have if there are problems with your pregnancy. Julie is wonderful too. Dr. Haupt also saved my mom, who ended up having ovarian cancer. He is the guy to go to in a crisis.

I was 37 when I first came to Dr. Haupt when we moved to the Central Coast. He helped us through the difficult time of losing a pregnancy, and successfully delivered my daughter, now 15, via c-section in 1996 due to complications. You can hardly see the scar! Now I am trusting him again as I am taking hormones for hot flashes. Again, he has worked miracles with me and I have no menopausal symptoms. I trust him explicitly and will see no other OB/GYN as log as he is practicing. Not warm & fuzzy, but professional, caring, and in my opinion, the best there is.

Dr. Haupt delivered all four of my children, the first two of whom were identical twins born by emergency c-section. It is our family's belief that, but for Dr. Haupt, we would not have gone home with two healthy babies. After a carefully monitored twin pregnancy that went to nearly 40 weeks, I had an abrupted placenta where but for Dr. Haupt's calm skill and the great staff at Sierra Vista, we likely would have lost one of the twins. My subsequent deliveries were both vaginal. I was one of those patients who really looked around the OB/GYN community before selecting a doctor, figuring it would likely be one of the most important dr/pt relationships of my life. In choosing Dr. Haupt, and his wonderful nurse Julie Jacobson, I chose a team known for their experience and expertise. I really trust my doctor and never more so than after he saved the life of my baby. After nearly 20 years of being his patient, our visits are more about pre-menopausal issues, I again feel like I'm getting… the best advice possible. I am grateful Dr. Haupt decided to practice here on the Central Coast.

Being new to the area, I randomly picked someone from my insurance directory. He spent a lot of time with me during the appointment, but I left feeling unclear. I was told I was going to be given a prescription, and wasn't. I had to return to the office after leaving, and was then told they would call it in. Nothing that was done during the appointment was explained to me, and I was sent for blood work that was unnecessary. When I called and questioned this the next day, as well as the reasoning for them requesting another blood test, I asked his nurse if they ever request records from previous physicians, I was told "sometimes". I had many problems with my delivery and first pregnancy, and it astounded me that the records would not be requested. I will be switching....
