Dr. Kurt Anthony Mccammon, MD

Was diagnosed with a kidney stone in hospital in severe pain. Was scheduled for surgery for a bypass stent for kidney stone. Surgeon said it would be better if I could deal with the pain to wait on surgery for removal of stone. I did so. Was supposed to receive a phone call day after release from hospital. Never received a call. I called and left message twice the following day with name and number. 2 days later called again left message with name and number in pain. No response!! Called next day which was a friday found out they had wrong number for me. Even though I had left correct number on answering machine several times. They told me they would contact me that day person in charge was with another patient. Never returned call. I called monday morning in pain asked for an appointment for surgery had to leave a message that stated the would get back to me that same day. Called back 1/2 hour before they closed in pain because I had not got a call back yet. Said I am in severe pain… and could they please schedule my appointment she asked what insurance I had. I told her i was in process of sending in cobra info. She said she was going to have someone else call me and did not see appointment. I will not be using this urologist if I can help it. They do not care about the patients especially if they do not have insurance thanks urologist of Virginia!!!!!!

Always have problems getting refills on prescriptions and staff never returns calls

I wasn't given results until I followed up with the doctor several times to find out the test that was given was the wrong test that I paid for. Then finally a month-and-a-half later a new prescription is given for another 24-hour urinalysis and now the week and a half later I have to follow up once again will the doctor. The nurse returned my call and told me that I need to go to a nephrologist and was very short with me did not give me any information other than having my physician reach out and refer me to somebody. Did not give me any instruction on what to do with my health issue.

Never felt worst after a doctors visit. His man is not a true professtional.

This guy should not be allowed to practice medicine. He did a procedure on me and didn't look at what he was doing because I had a disease and what he continued to do really hurt me. And I write this so people know about this doctor, who I went to in 2007. I still to this day have problems due to letting this doctor do a procedure on me.

After suffering from a urethral stricture for over 10 years, this is the only urologist who could fix my problem. It's been 12 years since I had the surgery and have had no issues since. Dr. McCammon is my hero. I will be forever grateful for him curing my issue and giving me my life back. Thank you Dr. McCammon!!!

Going to this doctor and allowing him to do a procedure on me has been the BIGGEST MISTAKE I have ever made. I had a sling put in due to leakage problems and I have had nothing but problems since. The past year I have been in the hospital 8 times. I moved out of state and this doctor refuses to take any phone calls from me to get information. I have found that most of his staff to be very rude. This doctor did not give me all of the facts about the product he was putting in me. I never had a chance to decide because I had no knowledge that he was using a bad product and that the surgery could not be reversed if there were any problems. Do yourself a favor go to a doctor that will give you ALL the facts before having surgery.

My case was pretty complicated and other urologists were not willing to consult/treat me. Dr. McCammon took the case, and, successfully completed the treatment over two surgeries. Even beyond my own experience, I was told by a pretty senior urologist that Dr. McCammon is the only urologist he would trust if he needed a surgery. The only issue with his practice is getting an appointment takes forever.

I have had two surgery with Dr McCammon and he is wonderful and caring. He and his PA are caring and thoughtful. You can not go wrong if you choose him as your doctor!!!
