Dr. Kyle Lee Scarborough, MD

I requested my full medical record — which I’m legally entitled to under HIPAA — and was told I could “just access the portal. - everything is in there". That’s not only false, it’s a direct violation of federal law (45 CFR § 164.524). The portal shows summaries — not full visit notes, diagnostics, or outside records. When I calmly explained my rights and asked for my complete file, I was transferred to the doctor himself — who hung up on me mid-call. After that, I was endlessly put on hold.... Only after I pushed back and made it clear I knew my rights did they say I'd be emailed “an explanation” of what they will provide. Still no full access. This is medical gatekeeping — plain and simple. I’ve filed a HIPAA complaint with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and have also reported this provider to the Texas Medical Board. If you want a provider who respects your time, your voice, and your rights — look elsewhere.

I’ve been a loyal patient at this practice for over 9 years, coming every 2 months without fail. Over the past week, I’ve emailed multiple times trying to get help with a medication that should not be stopped abruptly, and I’ve received no response at all. I was told by staff there were samples available, so I made a 3-hour trip to the office — only to be told there were none. When I asked for clarification, no one took responsibility, and the lack of accountability or empathy was honestly shocking. After nearly a decade of trust and consistency, I left feeling completely dismissed, unsupported, and frankly heartbroken by how this was handled.

Dr. Scarborough is the best. He listens to you and totally includes you in your own health decisions. He makes you feel comfortable and at ease at every visit. I've been seeing Dr. Scarborough for over twenty years and he hasn't been wrong once!

Before taking my business to Dr. Scarborough, I specifically asked his physician's assistant if they could accommodate me with my prescriptions the way that I've had them for years and they said that they would do that. I've been on Adderall for years for my ADD. So, I called in for my prescription and his nurse was extremely rude! Terribly rude! I realize that Adderall is a controlled substance and I've been taking it for years. I've been getting a prescription for 3 months (even from them) and the extremely rude nurse told me that I couldn't have it, I needed to come in for a checkup and that I COULD NOT speak to the physician's assistant, and hung up on me! She must have been having a terrible day and was taking it out on everyone else. Then I received a letter from Dr. Scarborough that my business was not welcome there! He didn't even discuss what happened to me! There are always three sides to a story, and he only heard one! I'm so sorry I ever moved to his practice. … He does not care about his patients and he allows his nurse to control what goes on in his practice. He does not listen to his physician's assistants. They lied and that is terrible coming from a doctor. If you can't trust them about prescriptions, how can you truly trust them about how they take care of the problems that you present? I'm truly disappointed! What a farce!

This dr prescribed 60 Xanax to my son for months in a row. Now I’m dealing with a out of control drug addiction my son had no business being prescibed that medication and 60 a month thanks doc. One day your kids have a problem you’ll see what this does and maybe you’ll have the broken heart I do

I have been seeing Dr. Scarborough for the last several years, primarily for annual physicals. I feel listened to when we discuss medical issues and options and my preferences. He lets me know when he feels my path deviates from his, or from best practices, but gives me the courtesy of empathy and a willingness to deal with my choice and advise me to the best of his ability anyway - an absence of this attitude would be a deal breaker for a long-term relationship with any doctor for me. During my last physical in late 2015 he removed a mole that turned out to be melanoma in situ. He referred me to a local plastic surgeon to have it excised - I chose to instead go to MD Anderson on my own and he supported my decision and played an important part in ensuring that appropriate data be transferred from his office to MD Anderson. I wouldn't trade my patient-doctor relationship with him for anything.

Our family of six always has a great experience at this office.

I love this dr and also his PA Dr Laura , she is awesome. The entire staff is wonderful. He has his own lab, so you don't have to go anywhere else, and the lady that draws blood, well let me tell ya, she is amazing. Never felt a thing.
