Dr. Lalitha Ananth, MD

I was giving Dr Anath a second chance after seeing her in 2013. At that time her waiting room time was an hour is and my health would not allow me to sit in her tiny uncomfortable waiting room. Recently, she moved to a new office in Huntington Beach, so I thought I'd try her again. However, when I got to the office NO ONE TOLD ME, even as I was sitting in the waiting room updating my paperwork, that Dr. Anath was not there. (She was with her daughter who was delivering her baby, as she should be.) But her stand in Dr was a GENERAL PRACTICTIONER not a rheumotologist. I only found out through the course of the examination when she said, "I'm just a GP you need a rheumatologist." Can they even do that?!? Dr Anath is a good Dr but she's not worth the bait and switch and lack of common courtesy I received today!!! Again!!! Nothing has changed. Her office staff had every opportunity to tell me Dr. Anatha was not in and her replacement was NOT A RHEUMOTOLOGIST!

I should have read and listened to the reviews here because they are true. I was going to be a new patient & made an appointment to see Dr Lalitha over one month ago. The appointment was for 11am. I arrived at 10:40am to fill out new patient paperwork & noticed 4 other patients in the front room. I turned my paperwok in at 11am sharp & asked when I would be able to see the Dr. The front desk told me there were 2 patients in the waiting rooms and 4 patients in front of me in front room. I mentioned I had an appointment at 11am and asked when I would be able to see the Dr? They indicated it would be around 12-1230pm best case. This Dr. has no regard or respect for other people's time whatsoever. The least the office could've done is called to let me know how late she was running. I guess her time is much more important than everyone elses. Beware

I like her very much. She is very compassionate, however, she is very busy.

I would put her at the worst doctor that I have ever seen. I got to the office 30 minutes before appointment. A drug rep came in shortly after I arrived and brought in Starbucks coffee for the doctor and staff. Had to wait 15 minutes while the doctor and staff enjoyed the coffee with the drug rep. Pretty rude with three patients waiting, not counting the ones in the rooms. After one hour when my appointment was they at last call me back. I ask the nurse does this doctor always run late like this, she said "YES". The nurse left. About 5 minutes of waiting I heard the doctor welcome another drug rep into her office. After one hour of waiting, she is still talking to the drug rep. I go out to find out what is going on. The help was surprised to see me, thought I left. Told them I had not seen the doctor yet. They said that she is with a drug rep and they will get her right away. Instead of leaving the drug rep right away, still took her 5 minutes to leave the drug rep. Instead of saying… that she would see me right away, she said nothing. She 100% forgot that she had a patient. I called the doctor that referred me to her. He called her, she said to him that she and her staff forgot there was one more patient in the room waiting. Also said that she could not see me them after 2 hours of waiting, because she was with a drug rep. Any doctor that would put a drug rep before patient, should not be a doctor at all. avoid this doctor at all cost, she does not care about her patients at all, just what profit she is going to make. One star is way to much for her!!!!!!!!!!!

To whom it may concern: We arrived at the Doctors office 2min. before our appointment with all our paperwork filled out. After presenting 6 pages of paperwork we asked for a copy. The receptionist responded as if we had NO right to the information on the papers. For some strange reason she was under the impression that sharing the information with the patient would breach some confidentiality or at least that was her attitude. Later after we had left the office I was informed Papaâ??s Care Giver had paid 20 cents a page for the documents we had provided the Office. We sat down and waited. 1 and ½ hours we waited. Then we were asked to go to the exam room. Again we waited, another ½ hour. 15min of this time the doctor sat with a Sales Lady who had brought salad for the Doctorâ??s lunch. I do not know if the Sales Lady had an appointment, but I do know she did not wait. Food appears to be a priority with the Doctor. On the wall of the waiting room is a sign asking clients to… be patient as the Doctor will provide the same attention to each client in turn. The Doctor finally entered the exam room, not reading any of the 6 pages we had submitted, she began asking questions of her brand new Spanish only speaking client. The Doctor does not speak Spanish. Her Nurse was called to translate. She asked where the pain was. I pointed out to her that her client was 87 years old and has many pains from his stroke some 3 years earlier, he has many doctors who treat his many pains, and she may want to explain the kind of Doctor she is so her client might have a better idea how to answer her question. (Quite frankly I was not sure what kind of pain a Rheumatologist would be looking for either. Apparently she wants to treat his joint pain.) After asking many of the questions provided in the paperwork she had not looked at, she asks her client to get into a gown. Once gowned and on the exam table the Doctor proceeds to bend and twist her clients joints with little consideration for him wincing in pain each time she pushes him beyond his limits. The Doctor decides he needs injections in his shoulder and ankle. After the injection the Doctor says he can get dressed and the Doctor leaves the room. A short while after leaving and while Iâ??m helping my Father-in-law with his clothes I notice a lot of blood on his foot and the floor. A pool of about 3â?? x 6â?? has accumulated on the floor. I called for the Doctor and she starts to clean it and them calls for the Nurse to clean the rest. I wanted to tell the Doctor how incompetent I found her, but she left the room while I was distracted by a phone call from my wife. The Nurse had remained and so I told her of my disappointment in waiting and the lack of preparation and care taken with my 87 year old Father-in-law. She informed me that we were free to find another doctor. Given her response and the sign on the wall of the waiting room I concluded the Doctor had a chronic problem keeping a schedule. If your having joint pan and you like being ignored, please go and see the Doctor.

The first time I went to see Dr. Ananth the greeting of the receptions is lacking they do not speak you can stand at the reception desk and not be recognized or asked if I can be helped. Very unprofessional greeting. My first visit as far to long 2 1/2 hours I am always 10 minutes early and to sit in the outer office and no one tells me the doctor is running behind I usually have to go ask. Second visit was 3 hours I was furious again no reason told why a long wait. If a doctor expects me to be on time I feel the same about here. Dr. Ananth should not over book and allow 15-20 minutes with each patient, shooting the breeze discussing your weekend should be done at another time not during doctor visits. I am really not happy with this doctor at all I am not clear if the diagnosis she is giving me is correct it's just confusing. I most likely will find another Rheumotologist.

I tried to schedule an appointment after reading the positive reviews about the doctor. The person on the phone told me they only see new patients in the morning. Are you kidding me! Taking time off work is already a problem and to have a doctor's office telling me that I can only come in during the morning is just bad business.

I have been seeing Dr. Ananth for over a year now and I will never go to another Dr. She is so caring. I can tell her patients feel the same way. She also has a nurse Lori who I think is the best!!

Doctor seems caring but office staff are extremely rude and frustrating.

This is a caring doctor but the office staff are well below office standards. On the phone I have noticed that there is a newer receptionist who is down right rude.... They also do not return calls. After three days I finally got through, then was told to call the next day and I would get worked in. The next day I was told I could not see the doctor and nobody told me to call back the following day. So, there are rude, liars working in that office. This level of care is unacceptable.
