Dr. Lance Boyd Reger, MD

Dr. Reger has helped me tremendously with a serious anxiety disorder. I strongly recommend him to any one struggling with mental health who is looking for a true expert who is very practical and easy to talk to.

Dr Reger is by far the best and and most compassionate Physchiatrist I have encountered. He truly knows his field of expertise and will be blunt while at the same time deliverling his message making you believe it is in your best interest. I would recommend him to anyone.

I started seeing Dr. Reger in 2004 and I was literally falling apart. He saved my life. I really don't know if I would be here if it weren't for him. He is unbelievably good at what he does. He is kind, empathetic and truly wants to help. Not a pill pusher. It took a while to find the best combo of medications and he worked with my psychologist to get there. I have seen a lot of doctors over the years but he is the only one who really ever made a difference and really changed my life. I will be eternally grateful for his care. I have never met any other doctor like him.

When I first saw Dr. Reger, I was taking 13 different anti-depressants and over the max dosage on several. It took almost 2 years, but I am now only taking 3 meds for rapid-cycling bi-polar. And better than that - I have not had the lows or highs in a very very long time.

I don't use the word brilliant easily, either. Dr. Reger was able to properly diagnose and treat me after over 8 years and 7 doctors worth of failures. He is very thoughtful and compassionate and is a tribute to his profession. He comes rated #1 by BarCares (which is a non-profit for NC lawyers with emotional or addictive disorders - and lawyers are #1 for both as a profession). I cannot recommend Dr. Reger highly enough. He quite literally saved my life.

I beleive I was one of Dr. Reger's first patients here in Charlotte. He has literally been a lifesaver and both my primary doctor and therapist have referred others to him.He is a rare find from what I've experienced in mental health care. While some psychiatrists seem to be little more than legal pill pushers, Reger digs deeper and treats you in what seems to be a more holistic manner. Yes, drugs may be needed but in working the way he does he finds the right "cocktail" sooner. I don't give trust away easily, and I trust him.

I have found Dr. Reger to be both caring and responsive. He works very cooperatively with my psychologist to keep her informed of my current medicalsituation and general status. I wish I had found him earlier in my journey through the mental health maze.
