Dr. Lance Wehrly

My wife (age 52) broke foot - he gave very good explanations of options and set expectations. Long, but positive and full recovery...without surgery! wow! bravo.

I first met Dr. Lance and his assistance Sean when they were called and drove from Mandeville to Lacombe Heart Hospital Emergency room to see me over a very painful elbow which he diagnosed as infectious bursitis requiring a specific anti-biotic. He took it upon himself to drive that distance for an unknown patient rather quickly I might add. How often does that happen. I was overwhelmed by his dedication and mannerism. During the follow-up visit I questioned the pain in my shoulder. Turned out to be rotator cuff and muscle damage requiring surgery. Of course I didn't want to hear that and fought him most of the way to avoid surgery. He was great, waited patiently until it became unbearable and said I needed to get to it soon. I know I'm not the best patient but couldn't argue with him or take the pain any longer and scheduled the surgery which went exactly as he said it would. I've been with him for some time now and actually look forward to my appointments. He has stood with me every… step of the way and I consider myself most fortunate to know him. We met by chance and I consider him more of a friend rather than my surgeon! Let's not forget Sean Morrison who has stood by and put up with me which I know wasn't easy. A friend as well! I have seen Dr Wehrly for 3 conditions. Each time he was a good listener, examined me well, and took time to really find out what was going on with each joint he worked with. I will need knee replacement in the not too distant future and I'll have him do it. I have seen at least 2 other orthopedists in the last 10 years in the Covington area and Dr Wehrly is my pick for surgery.

I have had 6 knee procedures. I went to Dr. Wehrly for a complete revision. This was by far the easiest surgery; I walked out of the hospital with a 90 degree range of motion, and my home rehab has been amazing!! A good rehab starts when the surgeon picks up the scapula. Dr. Wehrly will have me for a patient for a long time!! I highly recommend Dr. Wehrly!!!

This was my second visit to Dr. Wehrly. What impressed me most was the efficiency manner in which both he and his medical assistant attended to me. Dr. Wehrly was very personable, answered my questions with answers I easily understood. He communicated with my rheumatologist his assessment of my bone health. X-rays are taken right in his office; he can immediately access and review them. I was really surprised when he mentioned he was seeing 33 patients that particular day. I never felt rushed in any way.

We had to see Dr Wehrley due to my daughter breaking 2 toes. Shawn was super helpful making our appt and taking us into patient room the day of her appt. Dr Wehrley was very personable, knowledgeable, and realistic about the process of her healing time. When you unexpectedly need to see an Orthopedic surgeon and you are not familiar with any of the Drs and just need to rely on a referral you don't know what you will experience. I will always recommend Dr. Wehrley to anyone due to our experience.

Dr.Wehrly is very professional and has excellent bedside manner explains why he is doing something before he does it. His staff is also very courteous and efficient . I have visited his office multiple times and haven had a problem at all.

I have been to two other surgeons in the area and decided to go with Dr. Wehrly because of his prompt and professional office staff and his thorough explanation of my options.

Dr. Wehrly is a very intelligent and informed doctor. He has a friendly, comforting manner that immediately puts you at ease and allows you to feel uninhabited in discussing your issue with him. He listens as explain your problem and can then use his knowledge to treat the problem. I highly recommend him.
