Dr. Lara Hammond, MD

I never experienced a cold Dr. as this. I just went to see her and she leaves the room when I had not even finished asking about important things that I was concerned with. She complained to me about waiting too long for my next procedure surgery. It took me 3 weeks to see her and then I had to see a heart Dr. because of all the palpitations of my previous surgeries with her. I was also had to go to the emergency room the day before my scheduled with a serious infection. No one called to see how I was doing. I could go on and on about her, but one thing that needs to be done, is have her group of neurologists know the situation. From reading all the other complaints, she definitely is a very cold Dr. She might be good as a urologist but she definitely sucks as a warm Patient/Dr. skills. I know that her personnel staff feel the same at the way they were looking at me knowing that I was upset.

At first she took the time with me but after my cystoscopy she was dismissive, cold. I felt rushed and frustrated when I left. I didn't feel she listened completely to me. I will not go back to her.

Dr. Hammond was late for my surgery (the first of the day) so I had to wait on a gurney in the hallway outside the OR because the prep rooms were full. Neither she, nor anyone affiliated with her practice came to see me after surgery to explain what had been done. A nurse had to tell me a stent had been inserted. I was sent home with discharge instructions that didn't cover my procedures and when I called her office for more information, I discovered they were closed for two days. The covering doctor on call dismissed my concerns and I still have no idea how the surgery went, why I still have pain and bleeding or what's going on.

My experience with this doctor was excellent. NThis doctor performed excellent surgery and provided me with the information I needed for any subsequent decisions regarding any further treatment(s).

Dr. Hammond just recently performed a bladder repair surgery on me, since I was having a hysterectomy i figured mine as well take care of that too. I saw her in her office 2 weeks before my surgery and she was very kind, caring, and informative. She made me feel very comfortable and at ease. She performed my lift WITHOUT the horrible mesh i read terrible reviews about...she even agreed that the mesh is NOT the way to go. She visited me the next day in the hospital and again was very compassionate. I plan on contunuing following up with her and would certainly return to her with any urological problems if needed.

She did not address all of my concerns and was very short with me.
