Dr. Larry Michael Altschul, MD

A 10-minute visit by any doctor is not enough time to assess a patient's true health condition causing possible harm to that patient. We were patients there for 30 years. My husband and I revered our Cardiologist. This past Oct. my husband who was told at every visit that his heart was strong passed away at the Good Samaritan hospital ccu. (that is another story) Thank God a retired visiting nurse to the practice recommended and prescribed oxygen for my husband a year before his passing. Our good doctor of 30 years was visiting him in ccu, along with an occasional associate covering. I waited several months after my husband's death before calling the practice and trying to reach out to our cardiologist to find out why we had not heard from him. Would you believe he said "I didn't Know Bill died?" On to the next cardiologist for me and my poor husband won''t be in need of the 10 minute checkups in heaven.

It took 3 weeks to get an appointment after patients heart attack (patient is in his fourties, exercises & eats healthy). Dr. Altschul came un-prepared AND an hour late to the consulation. He did not ask; what lead up to the heart attack, if re-hab was necessary or if patient could go back to his normal life. When asked about reasons why this happened; after being on Statins & aspirins for 4 years, he had no answers or suggestions. He got agitated when asked about patient's testosterone & cholesterol levels and when references were made to various websites promoting alternative methods. Overall it seemed like he didn't care about the patient and had a very pompeous attitude. PS After 3 weeks his office still didn't have the hospital records. Patient's Primary care physiscian was able to obtain them in 1 day. Enough said!

I like Dr Altschul. He's very thorough and I always get follow up calls and reminders. I am a pain when it comes to being fussy about doctors. I like my money's worth. I also like to know that I'm in good hands. I know I am with Dr Altschul. By the way this is the first time I have bothered to give a review. That's because I think he deserves it.
