Dr. Larry D Canton, DO

Sadly, I'd love to give a rave review. Unfortunately, I have nothing nice to say. To keep it quick. I pay a 25.00 CASH (only accepts) copay for an injury. I get 3 scripts for meds, am told the front desk will print off a care sheet (no instruction from the Dr.) and an order for an xray. I do the xray and the next day, the Dr. office wants another copay to read a report. They refuse to do it over the phone and won't contact you if they aren't concerned about any findings. Don't we make an initial appt to get a DX and complete care for that particular issue? NOPE! Not to mention, the wait time in rooms is approx 45 minutes or longer. Even a request for a call from the Dr. was negated. They refused to ask him to call me. My Pharmacy will send in my routine med refills and never get a response. They don't take digital fax, BTW. They are still dinosaurs in the office. lol. Once I figured out what's happening, apparently, the pharmacy knows I need an appointment but, there was no mention… while I was standing in front of the doctor nor when I called to see what was happening with the refill fax sent 5 times. They are kind but, not helpful at all. If you mention you're going to another Dr. , just know it's 1.00 for the 1st 25 pages of your medical record and .25 each page after. This is ridiculous. Seeking better doctor. This one pushes meds and about 5 minutes total time advising. I've tried to like this office for about 2 years. So far, I'm not impressed or satisfied with any of the care thus far. If you aren't familiar with your rx timings, you should be. They don't keep up on when refills are needed or appts. I had to ask for a blood test for my 6 month A1-C.

Dr. Canton has been my PCP for over 20 years. I have no issues with him or his office and he has saved my bacon so many times I can't begin to thank him. For those who have had bad experiences, I suggest you use the same stopwatch and criteria with your new PCP. I doubt you will find differences worth discussing.

I am very sorry to say I see Dr Canton as my PCP. His office constantly schedules to many patients to be seen in a timely fashion!!!!! Every time you have an appointment at this doctor your waiting 1-1 1/2 hr to see the doctor. He nerves explains what the issue is and he tells you he will be back into see you before you leave. Never happens!!!! You eventually see the nurse who also never explains what they are doing and!!! You are left guessing what is happening!!! Worst doctor I have every had!!!!!

Dr. Canton has been taking care of me since 1996. His staff is wonderful and always treats me with the greatest care.

I never write a review but if it was for me I would give -1 star. First time I went there I waited 30min and second even though i had appt & I was pregnant I waited one and half hours and at the end I left because dr. Larry was still with another pt. Payment is cash & check only. The front desk ladies are rude. I am so happy I changed doctor.

The place smells. The staff is rude and the Dr only cares about money.

You make an appointment show up early and then wait more than an hour before you see him. Front office staff is amazing, but nursing staff do not know what they are doing! Don't ask them any questions you never get an answer. You hardly ever get a call back if you leave a message.

I was a patient of Dr. Canton for over 25 years until I relocated to the Athens GA area about 3.5 years ago. There were occasionally issues with his office staff over the years but never with Dr. Canton himself. I just wish I could have brought him with me to Georgia!

Very rude office staff. Very unprofessional

Dr Canton has been my doctor since 2010.I had good ins. he was nice and did a so so job managing my care.I became a self pay. The care was then non existant. I had a problem with finances one month,,I asked them if they could take a reduced payment and I would give them the rest in two weeks,,NO...I was on medication that HAD to be refilled. He did not care,,did I owe him money NO. He did not care that I was going to be very ill from lack of this very important medicine. So Ig ive this so called doctor a MINUS 4 rating.
