Dr. Ford was my daughters doctor for several years. She was quite heavy, and Dr. Ford blamed her weight for her breathing problems. He told her she had mmild asthma. She went to the emergency room, had a heart test, and was immediately sent by ambulance to Kaiser S.F for a heart valve replacement. Her valve was stenosed nearly shut. Dr. Ford had not only dismissed her problems, but didn't bother to give her tests to form a diagnosis. I questioned him about this, and he was very rude.

Coincidentally my first visit with Dr. Ford coincided with my experiencing quite serious pain in my lower right abdomen. I expressed my concern to Dr. Ford about the possibility of appendicitis and he was very dismissive and made only a cursory examination. Luckily I listened to my instincts and went to the ER that very night (pain was no worse, but I had developed a slight fever) and sure enough, a CT scan revealed an inflamed appendix, and I was scheduled for surgery a few hours later. If I had completely trusted Dr. Ford and waited, it could have cost me my life or at least serious complications.
