Dr. Larry Allen Nance

Dr. Nance has been my OB/GYN for over 20 years. I've followed him after practice changes so that I could stay with him specifically as a physician.He has delivered all 3 of my children, including high-risk preemie twins, and never faltered in his level of care.

Dr. Nance has delivered all 4 of my children and has become a part of our family.

When I had my son Dr. Nance was the Dr. on call for the hospital, he was not my Dr. during the pregnancy, thank God! I had a hard delivery and suffered greatly. My son was over 9 lbs. and Dr. Nance never refilled my medicine after the first dose or told me that I could request more. Therefore, I had him naturally, suffering a fourth degree tear. Dr. Nance refused to cut me he just let me tear. Then he stitched me up incorrectly. When my regular Dr. saw me for my check-up, his response was "oh my God who did this to you? Not only did he cause damage to me, (that I am still suffering from 15 years later), His beside manner was completely thoughtless and rude. I was quietly crying and I was very shy, so I grabbed my Husband's hand and Dr. Nance tells me to "stop being a baby and just push." Dr. Nance have you ever delivered a 9 lbs. 3 oz. baby naturally? I almost guarentee you'd cry too. During the stitches, he did not numb me well enough and I kept grinding my teeth because of… the pain. I actually chipped a tooth because of it. Dr. Nance had me so terrified after delivering my son that I was terrified when I went into labor with my daughter. I would never recommend Dr. Nance to anyone. He made a truly beautiful experience a nigtmare for me.

I was a patient a Dr. Nance many years ago when he was with another practice here in Manassas...it was my first viable pregnancy after suffering 4 losses so you could understand my uneasiness. At 20 weeks I began with signs of severe preeclampsia and was constantly told by Dr. Nance that all was fine, no problems even thought I was gaining between 5 and 10 pounds every 2 weeks at my appointments. At 34 weeks I was HUGE, and was told that I had eaten too much during my pregnancy that is why I had gained over 100 pounds...The daughter was born I owe my life to another doctor, definately not Dr. Nance...I had asked him repeatedly if I had preeclampsia and he repeatedly told me no, I had no symptoms. The day my daughter was born I had a blood pressure of 225/170 and come to find out had high blood pressure from week 22 on...I was so swollen when I gave birth (emergency c section) that 10 days later I had lost almost 100 pounds...No one in the office could believe the difference in me. … Dr Nance may be fine for regular pregnancies but I definately do not recommend him for high risk...

if there were a million stars for bedside manner that's what i would give dr. nance.
