Dr. Larry Deon Rabon, MD

I have no complaints about him. He was straight to the point but explained every thing. Even drew picture to help me understand what I had going on with my kidneys. Love him. Have yet to meet his staff. I was admitted by the Er and Dr Rabon was assigned to me.

I went to Dr. Rabon for 8 to 10 years. There was always a long wait when he had his own office,sometimes 4 to 5 hours. He also employed his Family as the entire staff. It did get alittle better when he moved to Carolina's Hospital. The wait is not as long and he is not allowed to employ Family. Over the years that I saw him,I had to go every month.( I think partly because he had me on a pain med. and I also had multiple kidney infections and stones.) Almost every month I was sent for a CT and XRAY. I lost count on how many surgeries he performed on me. My closest count was 16 Cystoscopes and 12 Lithotripies done even if I only had one stone. (I'm sure some were small enough to pass on my own.) I'm pretty sure that is where most of his income comes in. You never really know what kind of mood he will be in when you see him. I've had him come in a be be really nice and explain(with his drawing what he would do during surg.),then one other time he told me "to lay back and shut up". I… can't say he is a bad DR.,because I have'nt seen him in several years. I'm not sure if there is a age limit on when Dr.'s should not be doing surgery anymore. But when I saw him atleast 5 years ago he was in his mid-70's. So that's something you might want to consider if you think you might need surgery.

I had been going to a McLeod urlogist for 5 or 6 years and was told I had two small stones in each kidney. For about 3 years he would send me for a KUB....the last couple it was only for every other year. Then he left and I was assigned a new physician....he sent me for NO tests. Shortly thereafter one day I started passing copious amounts of blood and when both myself and my daughter-in-law tried to contact that doctor he was too busy to even take our calls. So I went to Carolinas ER where I found Dr. Rabon and after at CT he found a cancer on my bladder as well as about 9-10 not very small kidney stones in my right kidney. Fortunately for me he was able to excise the turor and after 3 lipsotripsos the stones. If I had not gone to him and this situation remained untreated that cancer could have grown and we all know the outcome then.

He was extremely rude and disrespectful, he treated me and my handicapped daughter like we were pure garbage and put his hand in my face several times telling me that I was not allowed to speak until he said I was. He has zero bedside mannners and we waited for 3:15 to see him while he stayed in the next room talking to a man about cars for over an hour. He saw every man in his waiting room before he came back to see us. Then when he did come back he was extremely rude and unprofessional. I will never be taking my daughter back to him, I wouldn’t even take my dog to see him!

Dr. Larry Rabon is the best as far as i am concerned
