Dr. Larry E Seals, DO

I have been seeing Dr Seals for about 17 years now, through all four of my pregnancies as well as a miscarriage. He is a wonderful Dr in my opinion and I fight to keep him as my Dr. I have only had a problem with one of his nurses once but she has since left. When first starting to go to him as a teen of course I was terrified and nervous. He talked me though things and kept the conversation light to try and take my mind off things. I personally recommend him to anyone. Thank you Dr Seals!

Amazing Dr

I am 29 weeks pregnant. This is my 2nd child. I wish I would have never of seen Dr seals, EVER. I have never been made to feel so stupid by a medical professional. It started the first appointment and has gotten worse. I am to the point I am seriously thinking about filing a quality of care not just with the Dr but with his front office staff as well who are entirely rude. The first appointment was somewhat normal other than I felt like I was rushed in and out like a cow going through a chute. He did not want to hear any of my questions. When he addressed the fact that I advised I am a smoker. He said well stop right now. I questioned about the stress that can cause (which Freeman OBGYN associates advised it can cause stress during my first pregnancy) he advised that Freeman OBGYN's were "Stupid and that's why you came to mercy right?" WRONG. I love freeman and wish we lived closer that way I could have those amazing souls back. I have had swelling, and during my sons pregnancy was… placed on bed rest due to Preeclampsia. When I brought up to Dr seals that my feet, hands and even face had began to swell at just 22 weeks he brushed it off advised if i were to wear compression stockings that it would no longer be a problem. He did not address the fact that I was having blurred vision or my slightly elevated levels that came back from the lab. I even had the date that symptoms started to appear and pictures of how bad my feet were swelling even with doing very minimal daily. He brushed it off like I was being irrational. I felt at then that he did not care about my well being or my daughters. I didn't have my gestational diabetes testing until I was 28 weeks pregnant. I personally thought this was odd because from my understating it's done sooner than that. I was then advised that I would start seeing him every 2 weeks. great right? No. because my question following that statement was when he would want to start talking about birthing plans. He said oh well we don't do those here because they are just plans of "Don'ts" because it's only things people do not want done. That I would come in the hospital staff would do what "They need to do" then everything would go about as business as usual. This was disturbing to me and made me very uneasy. Well as of today I went in for kind of an emergency visit with Dr. Seals office. The reason being is because at 29 weeks we are having vaginal discharge that has a pink/red/brown tint that I have had since 6:30 Am and it is now 3:01 PM. cramping started around 6:45 and has continued but is not nearly as bad as when I am sitting down. I left work early, got to dr seals office ( I called at 11:29 Am stating i was coming in as offered by the nurse in the office) no one was there. I waited and the receptionist finally came back from lunch and was kind of rude with asking why I was there. I explained I had a situation going on and that I needed to be seen. She brought up that it couldn't wait until next weeks appointment? I explained I had talked to the office nurse this morning then called and told them I was going to be coming in. She then turned to another receptionist whispered something, they both giggled and then the first receptionist stated "oh my god we are so mean" like they were high school sophomores who just said something bad about the insecure freshman. This made me feel extremely uncomfortable. when I finally saw Dr. Seals (after sitting and waiting from 12:03 to 1:09 PM) he walks out says my name and acts like he doesn't see me (his way of trying to be funny) then we went back. Im having a discharge that has discoloration to it and all he does is interrupt me when I tried to explain the timeline of when this started and how long it's lasted. He just assumed it was because I was having rough intercourse. His solution without checking me and making sure i was okay was to no longer be intimate until 6 weeks after my daughter is born. He did a quick ultra sound of my baby which he had to ask how many we were looking at today, then he continued the whole time calling my daughter, a boy. I was outraged. had his office made a mistake? Is this Dr so careless that he can't even look at the chart before he opens his mouth? I asked him what do you mean a boy, your office advised she was a girl. Dr. Seals quickly corrected and said that is right she is a girl and didn't even apologize. Then sent me on my way stating everything was fine and just no more intercourse. I left that office so much more concerned, and evening crying on the phone with my sister. I will never recommend this Dr's office ever.

For the love of your child and yourself, don't go to this doctor. He is a pill pusher, and uses fear to coerce. He was the nearest place I could go to get prescribed a medicine that my midwife couldn't. Instead of coming out of the hospital 2 hours later with prescription in hand, he had me staying overnight, hooked up to an IV for antibiotics I didn't even need. I finally got out of his hands by flatly refusing any more of his medical advice. When I was finally able to get to my main provider they were astonished at what I experienced there. They promptly took me off of the antibiotics he prescribed me (on top of the unneccessary antibiotics I recieved over 12 hours through an IV so they could keep me overnight and rack up a large bill). I will never go to Mercy in Fort Scott again, especially not to Dr. Seals. He was completely uninterested in what I had to say, or my concerns, and got snippy when I asked questions. Pregnant women stay away.

Dr Seals is wonderful! I discovered him during my 2nd pregnancy, and he delivered my son. He is very attentive to his patients, answers all your questions, and makes you feel comfortable with your experience. I also credit him and Ft Scott ER for saving my life, as I went to ER for abdominal pain and it was found I had an ectopic pregnancy and was bleeding internally and had to have surgery. He was in several times a day to check on me. Love him!

I've seen Dr. Seal multiple times and he has excellent pre-natal care. Highly Recommended, we need more people like him! He is always full of energy.

I tried to tell him exactly when I got pregnant. He informed me that I was wrong he tried to make me deliver 5 weeks early. I convinced him to wait 5 days more. When he ripped her from my body. He tore the outside of my abdomen never told me and left a suture hanging out. He also did not stitch me completely up. Therefore after 6 months I caught cold had a coughing and sneezing fit and busted wide open. I ended up with a severe hernia which had to be repaired when my baby was 6 months old when the doctor came in from surgery and for me there was no signs of any sutures stitches or any kind of attempt to stitch me up that should have still been there. My daughter had no fingernails, her treacha kept collapsing when she slept, she had to sleep in an upright car seat for 3 months! I told the staff nothing was done. His favorite thing to say to women RIGHT AFTER they have had a baby,... are you ready for another one? He has said this to new teenage moms!!! Can you imagine how hard that is… on the parents? I have not EVER recommend him. Dr Seals is terrible! His bedside manors suck! Good luck if you chose him!

Truthfully I spent more time with his medical assistant. Lucky me she was very sweet and pleasant. This doctor however delivered my baby tied my tubes, then disappeared. I didn't have a doctor for my follow UPS because he forgot to assign my case to someone. Oh and ruined a previous c Section. Now I have a fold under my stomach that makes me have a gut no matter what.

What a great doctor!! Spent time with me and answered all of my questions.
