Dr. Lars Lundgren, MD

Dr. Lundgren has been our daughter’s pediatrician for the past few years, and we couldn’t be happier. When we moved to Newburyport we met with several doctors, and Dr. Lundrgen (and his dog Chaplain) were a great fit for our family. He’s detailed and clear, and explains his reasoning, to both kids and parents. He helps our daughter feel relaxed and upbeat, even during visits when she’s getting immunizations. He’s really listens to us and to concerns we have, tracks (and remembers) recurrent colds or infections and advises individually.

Would not recommend Dr Lundgren. I was having some trouble with breastfeeding and came to baby’s checkup with a couple questions. He said I should wait at least an hour before offering baby another feeding even if she seems hungry. I later spoke with a certified lactation nurse who strongly disagreed and encouraged feeding baby on demand. Now, I understand he is a man so obviously has never had experience breastfeeding but you should not give out poor advice on a topic you’re unfamiliar with. And further, in my opinion a doctor of babies should be familiar with baby nutrition which includes breastfeeding. I’d never go back and wouldn’t recommend him.

Dr. Lundgren was my pediatrician for 15 years. He is a superb physician and a kind, caring person. It was difficult at times to get an appointment with him as he is very popular, but I always ended up being able to see him. I recommend Dr. Lundgren to any parents looking for a pediatrician.
