Dr. Lata Jyoti Nagpal, MD

I am very happy with Dr. Nagpal as my primary physician. So much so that she is also the primary physician now for both my husband and my mother. She is a kind, intelligent person and is always "right on spot" with her diagnosis. In addition her office administrator is very helpful (claims, appointments, etc)as well as friendly. I would highly recommend this clinic.

Dr. Nagpal has been our family's primary care physician since 1988. Through all these years, she has demonstrated that she is a very competent and caring doctor. It is quite easy to make an appointment. I usually get an appointment the next day or two. The office staff is courteous although through the years, I have seen quite a few nurses and office staff. Her diagnosis are accurate. Although her wait time averages about 15-20 minutes, it is worth the wait since she spends enough time with me to understand my medical problem. Her staff rarely follows up after visit. I reason that if I have any problem or complaint, I will call right away. I notice the number of patient reviews on this web site is less than 1% of the number of patients Dr. Nagpal sees every week. For the reviews to be an accurate reflection of the performance of the Dr, we need to have reviews that should be in the hundreds, especially with recent reviews. So, this web site has already provide a platform… for patients to rate their doctors, we need to provide our inputs, both positive and negative. Right now, it appears that the web site has more complaints than compliments. The proof of whether a doctor is good or not, like any service provider is how many repeat customers one gets. If Dr. Nagpal is not good, would I have see her all these years? There are reviews that complain that the doctor milks money by making the patients come to the office to review test results. This is true. I do not resent it as much because I only make a $25 copay. I understand that the doctor has costs such as salaries for the office staff, rent etc. My main criteria is :"Does the doctor fix my medical problem?" If she doesn't, even if she charges half of other physicians, would you want to see her?

sucks.. she is after making money. bills for other visits that does not even apply. Makes you come for a office visit to discuss normal labs just to make money, Sucks for patient when they have deductible.. Never ever will I see her. if you do see her, make sure you check you bill. she adds codes without any need to make extra money for her practice.

I would not recommend this doctor due to the following reasons.1) for a routine physical, even if your labs have low iron, she would want to talk to you in the office instead of calling in for a prescription or telling over the phone... OUTCOME, easy for her to make money as an additional office visit. It's diffcult for people who have deductible. 2) she always charges an office visit with a routine physical for a new patient to get extra cash in her pocket. I went and saw her for a physical as it was covered 100% by my insurance. we did not even talk about anything else and she charged me a office visit for the same day. I asked her why??? her answer. She does it to all the new patient and I said its not fair when we never discussed anything. the office said thats what they always do. I said I never signed any paperwork. there is no policy of any sort written anywhere in the office. Again, easy way of making extra money from patients. PER OFFICE STAFF, " that;s the way for doc to make… money as she does not get enough flow,"???? Patient don't realize the inside scope on medical billing and I don't think its right to take advantage of such patients.

Making an appointment is extremely difficult.

I was very disappointed in the professionalism of this office. I waited forty minutes to be seen by Dr. Nagpal and there were no other patients. The nurse was not professional and had very poor bedside manner. I began to wonder if she was even qualified for the job. The overall atmosphere of the office is run down and untidy, too. Every time I have tried to make an appointment she is either not in the office during her office hours or her hours do not coincide with people who work. It is clear this doctor's priorities have changed over the years. Weight loss has become the focus not helping patients with various medical issues. Blame for those medical issues, that are genetic, is being placed on weight. I have seen other doctors since for other opinions and they have confirmed I am far from having a weight issue.

Dr Nagpal was our internist from 1992-2005. I found her to be honest and forthright. She was encouraging, supportive and caring. In one instance, on a Sunday, she made herself available to see our daughter who had been at camp and had contracted a serious infection. She chastised us (deservedly so) for waiting so long (overnight) and said she would have seen her right away. Dr. Nagpal diagnosed my wife's early onset of Fibro and di all she could to mitigate it. I rate Dr. Nagpal high and would recommend her to any of my friends.

I would highly not recommend her. She is never available if you have any critical issue with health or change in medicine. We have had to wait for her response for days. Not happy with her.
