Dr. Laura Torrico Brusky, MD

I'm looking for a primary care doctor. I dont go to doctors because my family has all had issues of getting the bad ones. So I let things run its course. I have been feeling off and had some symptoms to go with it. Again - I don't do doctors, but two weeks of issues- I went to a doctor. Not Brusky, but one that also didn't listen - became focused on one thing instead of listening to all to try to figure out what is wrong. I got real sick the following day after a run, almost passing out (I'm a runner, this is not normal). 3 days later had flu like symptoms so decided to try to establish a relationship with a recommendation - Dr. Brusky. I want bloodwork - as I have a marathon over the weekend and need reassurance i am okay. At first the meeting goes like it did with the first doctor but I interupt her hopeful she is as good as I was told- she seemed as if she listened. I went to the bathroom for a urine test with the agreeing we would do blood tests after. I get back to… the room and she is a little short and quick saying her assistant will be back to take me for bloodwork. The assistant comes in half in the door telling me i am set to go. I ask about the bloodwork and she says 'no bloodwork needed you are free' Nobody explained why no bloodwork. I was then all alone - not sure how to react. I just froze. So I left with no answers contemplating going to urgent care or a third doctor. I have run marathons sick before but this is a different sick. she knew I had trust issues with doctors and she couldn't even have the courtesy to come back into my room to explain why she changed her mind on bloodwork.

I was looking for a female family physician and I found Dr. Brusky was accepting new patients and the office is within driving miles from my home. Upon meeting Dr. Brusky I felt comfortable and relaxed. She obviously read my prior medical records as she mentioned things for years ago. She didn't rush me and didn't rush the office visit. For me, a first impression is a big deal whether I would come back, and I can say I enjoyed talking with her as she really listened to me and made some suggestions on my care. I would say if your looking for a female or just compliments for a physician search, I would recommend Dr. Laura Brusky, she is a very knowledgable, carin I would recommend Dr. Brusky as she is a caring and patient Doctor as she listened to everything I had to say and went over my meds thoroughly. First impressions matter to me and I would recommend Dr. Laura Brusky to anyone looking for a new or female physician.

Dr. Brusky was pleasant enough during my visit, but now 6 months later I am still making phone calls trying to correct my claim. It turns out that extra tests were run, other than the necessary ones I was informed of, and now I am getting stuck with the bill. The billing department is not very helpful either - very defensive and quick to get off the phone. I do not plan to return to this office.

I found Dr. Brusky as part of my health benefits plan preferred provider directory. She was easy to get an appointment with initially, but that changed after a while. Upon undergoing multiple ER visits and MRI and CT scans, my results had been intentionally deferred and I quote from her "...if you do this to us you can expect the same back..." I had missed a clinic appointment with her due to a delayed flight and I did not call-- my bad for which I apologized. Subsequently, I've been diagnosed with a brain tumor only after insisting another doctor read the results, a doctor whom is impartial to the whole incident. What poor customer service and a disgrace to the medical field. She knew I was losing sleep, losing weight, having neurological issues for a while and kept insisting it was stress...I insisted and eventuall exaggerated my symptoms to get a MRI. Lakeshore Medical Clinic is a joke. A Bunch of kids in gowns playing doctor and toying w/real people's lives. I only hope the… remainder of my life is better than the time i had with Dr. Brusky./
