Dr. Laura D'Angelo, MD

I saw Dr. d'Angelo from for over a year. She was always very clinical (not caring or empathetic). She never spent more than 20 minutes with me. I have a high deductible plan so I paid a fortune to see her. I did tell her at one point that paying my medical bills was causing me financial stress. Three months later she dropped me from her care via a letter sent certified mail. No explanation. Just a letter stating it was best if we parted ways.The letter also stated that I have a serious medical condition and I need to keep up my medication. Also that she would be available for emergency hospitalization for the next 30 days. There wasn't even a referral for another doctor to replace her. At this point I don't want to start over with a new doctor and I will be stopping all medication. She is a cold and unsympathetic person. I strongly advise against choosing her as your psychiatrist.

My young adult child was treated by this dr in 2011. I called her office for help with my child suddenly having hallucinations and delusions. Her front office answered my call but wouldnt let me speak to the doctor then or have the dr call me back.....instead i was told that i could make my child an appointment to be seen later that day or take my child to the local hospitals ER to be seen.

Most memorable is the patience it took on her part. I went in there the first couple times resentful because of the terrible experience I had with a previous doctor. So I was very negative, terribly pessimistic that anyone could help. She did, and she brought me back.

It was easy and I didn't have to wait long like I did at previous docs. She knows what she is doing. If your a drug seeker forgettaboutit, she is there to make patients better and she is authentic. I would recommend her to my friends that are either going through a rough time, or want to get better, or manage better.

Dr d'Angelo genuinely cares about her patients and makes you feel important in her practice. Interaction with patient is expertly used to assist in formulating the correct treatment. Excellent professional and better person. Would trust her with my life.

I am a patient of Dr D Angelo. I think she is a good doctor and I enjoyed seeing her. However 3 weeks ago she left her practice in Venice and I am unable to locate her......Dr Laura .....help me find u.....Look under B s in ur records.Also look under golfers. thanks........

I found her to be excellent and very knowledge. I was thrilled when I met with her, because she was the first psychiatrist I had met in Sarasota that I could really relate to (after seeing several others). My primary doctor that recommended her said she had received good reports from others about Dr d'Angelo and I heartily agree.
