Dr. Laura Gladstone, MD

Very smart surgeon and direct about benefits and risks of various procedures. She fixed a chronic problem I struggled with for years. She is very skilled and I had minimal downtime after the surgery. I hope I don't need a surgeon again, but I would see her again in a heartbeat.

Dr Gladstone is awesome. She listened to my concerns and is very knowledgeable. If you need a J-pouch, look no further!

I was seen in a somewhat Emergency type situation. Grateful that she saw me. However it was Friday afternoon, I was clearly keeping her from her weekend. The consultation was rushed and hardly informative. My local numbing was so rushed that she didn’t even wait for it to work. After a 20 minute incision and drainage on an abscessed cyst, without any numbing- all pain, she sent me home with a packed wound for me to unpack myself hours later. Ow! I insisted on coming back for follow up visits, probably 4/5, I didn’t think it was healing correctly, and there seemed to be more infection that didn’t work it’s way out before it closed, or it wasn’t drained enough. 7weeks later I found myself with the same problem- I got a new doctor, at a new office, who took the time with me to explain everything, scheduled a procedure as well as a future plan. I am healing now, with weekly check ins, I instantly feel a huge relief, less anxiety, and more trust. I would never recommend dr… Gladstone to even my worst enemy.

brilliant surgeon saved my life when i was fighting advanced colon cancer.

Dr Gladstone and her staff were right there for me thru the whole process.

My Wife had a very bad clotted hemorrhoid when she was 38 weeks pregnant. When she called to ask for an appointment she was told she had to wait 1 week. This was not a big deal at the time but 4 days latter she ended up in the Emergency room due to the issue. After this visit the issue appeared to be coming back. Still 2 days from the appointment scheduled with Dr. Gladstone. My Wife was in tears and tried to get the appointment moved up and the DR. refused to make a special exception and see her. Even when the OB and Primary care doctors called this doctor still refused to make a special appointment to see my Wife. This is when I as her Husband called to try and help. I pleased for an earlier appointment which included a 1/2 hour wait on hold. When they said they could not see her earlier I then asked if she could at least be the first patient on the day of her appointment instead of the current time which was the last appointment. The Doctor still refused to budge or do anything to… help my Wife. At this point I became agitate and told them that this is not the service that I have received in my 15 years at the Poly Clinic. Both my Wife and I have had our doctors here for 15 years and they are all so great. I said I have never heard of a doctor not helping out a 38 week pregnant woman who is crying from the pain. This office was cold and had no sympathy at all. The receptionist had no sympathy and neither did the Dr. Gladstone who I waited for over 1/2 hour to just say that she would not help. I told them that I planned on filing a complaint based on my experience. The AWFUL thing is that after my call they said I was rude to the receptionist and that they would not be willing to see my Wife at all. So now they are punishing my Wife because they did not like the urgency/concern that I had. My instincts were to help my Wife and I would have thought that any Doctor would have had a moral and ethical obligation to help. My Wife called in tears, Her OB office called, Her primary care doctor called, and her Husband called. We were all rejected by this office. Thank goodness that the other great doctors at the Polyclinic do care and helped out and saw my Wife the same day and now today she is feeling much better. I would not recommend this office.

I cringe to write a bad review of the only woman surgeon on this page...but this was my experience. This doctor was highly recommended to me by my own doc, who I love. I suffered an obstetric fistula. She had a cold bedside manner and, instead if trying to locate the problem and learn more about the severity, she basically just told me to wait it out for another 4 months. This is not a condition that is easy to deal with on the daily. Everyone, even my doc who recommended her, has advised me to get a second opinion. She also made a judgey comment about my plans to return to work post-baby. Just plain not a fan.

I love Dr Gladstone...i went to her for a second opinion after being really dissappointed in the first Dr i went to.She is got a great bedside manner, and really knows her stuff!! And surprisingly for me..she did not reccommend surgery (which is rare for a surgeon)!! I felt very comfortable with her..She also performed surgery on a friend of mine who also really loved her..
