Dr. Laura Kay Helling-Christy, PsyD

I have OCD and anxiety. I've seen Dr. Laura for many years on and off. When I leave her office, I feel like 200 pounds have been lifted off my chest and shoulders. My partner calls her my "Magic Lady" because I can be an anxious mess before I see her and then completely zen after I see her. She is a gift.

I came to Ms Helling-Christy after experiencing several traumatic events that left me depressed and anxious. After a year of treatment I felt a thousand times better and learned great skills for self management.

My wife took counseling from Dr. Helling. I write this review not from a perspective of being a direct patient, but the result. The counseling didnâ??t help mend a marriage that could and should have been saved. The result of the counseling sessions were always what I have to do and never a partnership in how we could work on a common goals and issues, how she should reduce anger, how she should communicate better, how the important things in the relationship were being ignored. It resulted in more control and the outcome a divorce. I donâ??t recommend this council.

Went with my wife to find out what she is feeling, and it turned into a divorce lecture by Helling-Christy. Never did she want to talk about what my wife's issues were. Only that I don't get it and they both do not feel the need to explain what the issues are. I am supposed to just leave.
