Dr. Laura Lynn Hershkowitz

Dr. Laura Hershkowitz has been doctor for seven years now, she has been a great help to me as I am living with oligodendroglioma that couldn't fully be removed and now I have seizures form the result. She has helped me immensely, and is a big help to me and family in my fight for time of live. Thank you Laura. L.P.C.

Not a good bedside manner but does the job needed. Staff is courteous and wait time is usually quick.

She put me on meds with no blood test and at the wrong dosage!

She is very stubborn and set in her ways, listen to you and keep pushing for what she wants and more then willing to screw your life up. Was referred to her by my actual Dr just for more evolution and all she did was screw me in the end.

I've been seeing Dr. Hershkowitz for about two years now. I came at a time of crisis, I had just had a seizure at work which was new for me. At our first appointment she expressed surgery was something she'd like to pursue, which I'd already had with limited success. After doing a video EEG she continued to push surgery despite the drs who did the EEG giving it a very low probability of benefit. This pattern has continued that she wants something I don't feel is a good fit for me but she won't back down. She is very negative such as suggesting I apply for SSD not because I'm not working and supporting myself but because "I'm sure your employer would fill out the paperwork."

Dr. Hershkowitz is an amazing neurologist. Things really changed when she came on the scene. Before Dr. Hershkowitz, the other doctors said my mom had a stroke. Then, a month later, my mom had another stroke. All of her doctors were treating her for the stroke, but there were many things that didnt fit the stroke diagnosis. We got lucky when we found Dr. Hershkowitz. She listened to every little detail that my dad and I could tell her about Moms history. She sifted for the nuggets of information that could help her figure out why mom was having the problems that she was. Dr. Hershkowitz even extended our first visit with her into her lunch break because she was really trying to get the whole picture. After reviewing some tests and reading the previous hospital reports, she said that she believed that the spot on moms MRI was not from strokes, but from a tumor, instead. The neurosurgeon went in and took a biopsy of the spot. He was sure that he was in the right area, and… he did not see sign of a tumor. Dr. Hershkowitz came to us and said that she still believed that it was a tumor causing moms distress. It was very hard on my family to see mom go through the first surgery. We put a lot of faith in Dr. Hershkowitz, when we allowed the neurosurgeon to try a second time. This time he found a tumor.Mom was able to finally get the treatment that she needed to fight the tumor. Dr. Hershkowitz is now treating mom for the seizures that she has as a result of tumor. Moms seizures are not text book seizures. Again, Dr. Hershkowitz listens intently to my mom, dad, and me to determine whether mom has had seizures recently or if they symptoms point to other things. My mom is sensitive to the majority of the seizure medications on the market, and has all of the side effects that go with them. Dr. Hershkowitz has had to tailor them just so for my mom, for them to work. She says that working with medicine is an art, and tailoring it to fit each person, for their specific needs, is all a part of it. (Thats not a quote, just how I heard it.) Dr. Hershkowitz has been everything weve needed her to be: supportive, straight forward, empathetic, compassionate, great listener, logical thinker, and a knowledgeable doctor, patient, thoughtful, to the point (Ive probably missed a couple). Her nurses and office staff are marvelous and very patient, I always feel like I can call and get my questions answered with patience, knowledge and respect.This review has been a long time in the making. I want other families to hear our story, so if they choose they can have Dr. Hershkowitz as a doctor. Also, I have no other way to thank her for the wonderful service that she has provided for our family, then with my words.

SHe is needs to go back to school. she is a lier and doesnt give 2 craps for people. She just wants to place people on meds and who cares about the outcome. She tried to put me on meds and told me she would not take away my licence but did behind my back.. I refused the meds with out testing. went to her partner and he reinstated my licence and it was due to stress and msg.. the reason i was seeing spots.. SO PLEASE TEST before meds.. I got my licence back after 2 months..and would not even take my dying cat to her.. SHe really should go back to 101 school for nero..
