Dr. Laura Yates Lecours, MD

I went to Dr. Lecours throughout my childhood and am still suffering the consequences of her actions. Instead of listening to my symptom complaints as a child, she constantly dismissed me as simply having anxiety. Whenever I came back with the same complaint, or with new and worsening symptoms she acted irritated towards my mother for bringing me in once again. Dr. Lecours consistently gaslighted my symptoms and claimed I simply have anxiety. While medical gaslighting of women is more well-known and exposed nowadays, you wouldn't expect a physician to gaslight a child ... Yet Dr. Lecours did and continued it persistently throughout the years without a second thought. Come to find out, all the symptoms Dr. Lecours diagnosed as anxiety are quite common issues such as acid reflux. But because Dr. Lecours did not diagnose or treat these basic conditions, they progressed into serious issues because they damaged my internal organs as a result of being untreated for years on end. It is… horrible that I had to be told for so many years as a child that I was simply imagining these symptoms!

I have 2 kids that I take to her and they love her. She is a very kind and experienced doctor.

I have been taking my son to Dr. LeCours for years. I love her relaxed and comfortable approach and trust her judgment completely. I found her to be open and caring and quick to act when necessary, but she is not an alarmist which was always reassuring to me. I have the highest regard for her.

Very closed minded old school doctor who does not like parents to question her or question anything for that matter. If you are looking for a doctor who will work with you, and respect your opinions and concerns, do not go here.
