Dr. Laura Plummer Smith, MD

Dr Plummer has been seeing my daughter for just about a year now! She does an amazing job of making you feel comfortable and at ease about situations involving your kiddos! To need surgery on your 1 year old daughters eyes is awful but dr Plummer was the perfect choice for a dr to do this job! I’m so glad we found her!

Dr. Plummer was the best eye doctor I've seen! She was very kind, and dedicated to my child.

Dr Plummer is, by far, the BEST eye doctor you will find. After 6 years of concern and worry, 3 eye surgeries, and 2 eye doctors, God answered our prayers and provided us with the most amazing doctor. After my daughter's last eye surgery where the doctor made her situation worse and advised that we "take another crack at it," I was in tears every time I talked about it. Her 4th eye surgery was scheduled with this doctor, but I did not feel right about it. Children's Mercy was able to fit us in before the scheduled surgery date so we could get another opinion. Dr Plummer spent more time with my daughter than all of the previous appointments combined and that would probably be 15 appointments. At last we found someone who cared enough to spend time on evaluating my daughter's eyes. Dr Plummer told me she would look over the previous doctor's notes and call me with her thoughts on another eye surgery. When she called, she spent 17 minutes on the phone with me answering questions… and explaining things to me. I made note of the time because I was shocked that she spent that much time with me. My husband and I cancelled the surgery, got my daughter new glasses with a new prescription from Dr Plummer, and made an appt a few months later for a follow-up. That was the best appointment we ever had. My daughter's control is better, her eye is drifting less, and her brain is using both eyes to see...thanks to Dr Plummer and her new glasses. I left there feeling confident and knowledgeable about my daughter's eye condition. Again, the time Dr Plummer and her assistant spent with us was not rushed and perfect. Dr Plummer has a wonderful way with children and my daughter loves her. My daughter very well might need surgery in the future, but when that time comes, I know she will be in the best hands possible. I thank the Lord for leading us to Dr Plummer!!

She was wonderful with my child and fixed the problem that we have been so long dealing with. I highly recommend her...you won't be dissatisfied.
