Dr. Laura Popper, MD

Laura is very competent. The fact that has 50 years of experience is a plus. She has a common-sense approach to medical issues that I really like. I recommend her (in fact she is the pediatritian of my son)

Dr popper is the best. I can’t possibly understand why anyone would leave a negative review. She puts me at ease as an anxious new mom. She’s extremely thorough, careful and patient but not at all alarmist. She calls back right away when there’s an issue and follows up to make sure everything is ok. Her staff is also the most competent of any medical staff I’ve ever seen.

She is wonderful and exactly what you want from a family doctor: medically thorough, empathetic and kind. We have seen her for all sorts of things throughout the years, ranging from very minor issues to more serious infections, and every time she has taken the time to ask the right questions and explain things to both the children and me as a parent. Her team are helpful and lovely. Unlike most medical visits we all actually look forward to visiting Dr. Popper!!

I googled Dr Popper this afternoon just to see if she was still practicing and saw this site where some moron (clearly it's all from the same person because s/he uses the same two words each time--not clever) has posted negative reviews repeatedly. Dr Popper literally saved my life after my parents found me half-dead in my crib with meningitis, and she also diagnosed several complicated problems as I got older. Once I was a teenager she scooted my mom from the room and was one of the first adults to honestly ask me about my social behaviors like sex and smoking--so I guess if you're a parent who doesn't want your ped to look out for your kid's best interests, maybe she isn't the right fit for you. My parents adored her, she is level headed and wise, and kids like her.

I've been taking my kids to Dr. Popper for years. Her office may not be the most tidy, or the most modern, but to me I've managed to overlook the superficial because of her skills as a physician. She knows medicine, she doesn't over-medicate, and while her look may be casual, her approach is anything but carefree. I've checked out other pediatrician offices that are sleek, modern, contemporary, but quite honestly, all the glitz and glamour didn't really add up because there is no substance behind the Doctor and their team. Could her office be tidier, yes... I often wish it was updated, but I go back because there is a safe familiarity in her practice and a family feel, and within five-ten minutes of my calling off hours, Dr. Popper or Dr. Loiselle (her associate) always call me back. I'm never left hanging.

The office was untidy. I was totally unimpressed. Dr. Popper was abrupt.

There seems to be someone on this site who has some kind of bad feelings about Doctor Popper but they are crazy because she is an excellent doctor. I have taken all my kids to her for years and she is wonderful. Shame on this other poster for writing such nasty and false information about this wonderful doctor.

I don't know how easy getting appointments was for my parents, but as a child who visited Dr. Popper for many, many years, I loved her! I wish that as a young adult I could still go to her office, which was always so much fun. Her staff were like family and made things like getting shots so much less painful. Highly recommend (from a kid's perspective).
