Dr. Van Houten is a great doctor, very understanding and kind and listen and take care of you.

Dr Van Houten continues to provide excellent care. She is a model of what a compassionate, caring physician should be. She was one of our favorite residents (among the nurses) at Emanuel and continues to impress today. She is the best!

Office staff was very friendly as well as the nurses and the Dr herself

My experience as a first time patient was excellent. I felt listened to and was impressed with how comfortable I felt despite annual exams not really being the funnest things to do in general. Also i didn't have to wait long to get in to my appointment after checking in.

Last visit was rush, painful, and overcharge. It shows that she cares nothing about long term patient. Do not recommend this doctor.

I only saw her once. She had no view of me as a whole person with individual needs. Her strictly by the book approach made a couple unsettling years until l found a GYN that was mature enough to "get" what I needed.

Was a horrible birth experience. I was disappointed in her lack of professionalism and bedside manner. I am changing OB's. I would not recommend her. She also would not give any recommendations when there were options and was asked her opinion on which was best. She has only been in practice 4 years, I would recommend finding an OB with more experience.

My experience with Dr. Van Houten has been unfortunate. She does not seem to give time nor care for her patient, in my experience. I have been left with a feeling that I am on my own. I would like to have a doctor who seems to care about the patient and would be a bit more involved, even if it were at least during the check ups. Dr. Van Houten is a pleasant person, but does not give the care I would expect for something that required real attention and care such as preparing for a birth.
