She completed her residency in General Surgery as the establishing class at the University of Texas Southwestern in Austin. She has publications in the American Surgeon and the Journal of Trauma and has presented at many national medical conferences for her work and research in the surgical field.
In March of 2014, she married Jay Ryan Ash and changed her last name from Dr. Lauren Sowrey to Dr. Lauren Ash. Following her residency, she joined the Seton family of hospitals, performing surgery at Seton Southwest Hospital, Seton Medical Center Austin, Seton Medical Center Hays, and Westlake Hospital. Dr. Ash’s area of expertise include laparoscopic surgery, breast and hernia surgery. She is a member of the American college of surgeons and …the American college of women surgeons.
On her own time, Dr. Ash enjoys spending time with her family, friends and running around Lady Bird Lake with her Great Dane, Zena.
