Dr. Laurence Robert Bower, MD

I would NEVER recommend this doctor or office to anyone. You see Dr. Bower once and then you have to see a PA. The PA I had was so bad he is no longer with the practice. All they do is push pills. No follow up. The WORST part is their office staff. I have NEVER been able to resolve anything over the phone with them. I have to drive in every time - even just for prescription refills. They don't answer the phone - EVER, and when you leave a message they never call you back. Every fax that has ever been sent to them for me they tell me has not been received. When you ask to speak to a supervisor or the doctor or ask to resolve your request while you are in the office, you are told no. It's unbelievable. Dr. Bower is just collecting money and doesn't care about the patient experience. I'm looking for a new neurologist.

The first visit was good and I really liked Dr. Bower. The problem is follow-up visits you see the NP. You're not told this. He only sees new patients. The other problem is they don't answer the phone and are bad about returning messages. Twice I drove over there just to talk to someone because they didn't answer the phone. I will be finding a new Dr.

Misdiagnosed and not taken seriously.

I am only giving a negative score to the very rude unprofessional Meagan who answers his phone. She was very unpleasant and rude. He needs better staff apparently..

He listens to my problems and explained the diagnosis in plain English.

The doctor has you see a physicians assistant. Then after running the blood tests .The results are back and the secretary calls you and tells you don't have to be seen by the doctor. So they canceled our appointment . It is hard to get in to him anyway. Almost a month.. It is sad that doctors like this one doesn't care.

Dr.Bower was extremely helpful and caring when I came to him with a concussion after a car accident. He gave me good treatment options and reasonable expectations of recovery. He was thorough with follow up appointments to check on recovery and took necessary steps when symptoms were not improving.

Dr. Bower is the best. I have been a patient of his for 6 or 7 years. He regulates my meds and makes me feel a lot better. Always pleasant to go to his office. I trust him.

I presented with a major speech impairment(slurred speech and studdering). Dr bower rushed through my appointment, ordered an MRI, lab work and prescribed meds. I had the MRI done, which he said was clean and no issues, so he wrote me a scrip for medication with 3 refills. And that was the end of that. By the time my refills were up I had moved to Houston and started seeing a neurologist there. That neurologst immediately determinded I did NOT have what Dr Bower said I had, ordered another MRI and an EEG. The results showed that I have a major birth defeat in my brain and skull, and that I was having seizures about every 10 seconds. Now, someone whose a medical doctor and a NEUROLOGIST have seen those types of issues?!? I think yes! So not only have I been having seizures for the last 6+ months while under Dr Bowers care, but there is also a malformation in my brain. And I have been sitting in pain for 6+ months, when had I been properly diagnosed could have been receiving treatment… for. I wouldn't recommend Dr Bower to anyone! Ever. Also, he's clinic days are 2 days a week, Monday and Thursday. Good luck trying to get a hold of his staff any other days. I've been trying to get a hold of my medical records for well over 2+ months, and still haven't received them. His staff is lovely when you do get ahold of them, but otherwise forget about it.
