Dr. Laurence F Perlstein, MD

Dr. Perlstein treats me like I am a person, not a diseased nor broken nor defective body part, but an entire human being with an intelligent mind and spirit, as well as a body. He always asks, "How are you?" or, "What can I do for you today?"; never, "What's wrong with you?" nor, "Why are you here?" He cares about me as well as taking care of me. He is patient with his patient. He asks pertinent questions and actually listens to responses. His diagnoses and prognoses are accurate; his treatments are effective. He sends a letter explaining test results and calls to remind me of appointments. His sense of humor is wonderful! Dr. Perlstein reminds me of an old-time country general practitioner, only with all the modern bells and whistles available in the 21st century big city.

Dr. Perlstien make you feel at ease and show concern when you try to expalin what your ailments are. If a follow up is needed he will have you schedule the next appointment before you leave his office. Dr.Perlstien is a very good doctor.

What I dislike most about this physician is the word choice he uses in his diagnosis. He almost always has a grim, this is ultimatly what's going to happen kinda of attitude. No positive, promise or glimse of hope. And the appointments are for a dimentia patient who is pleasant, calm, happy and well taken care of (unlike most). Which he states regularly how he enjoys seeing her. She really is doing great. What does he see????? I feel based on the patient, you should make a call..not on prior experiences because everyone is different. This patient has also been taken off of Diabetes medication(not by his instruction) and maintaining a regulated glucose level controlled strictly by diet (close to a year now).

He doesnt act like he's a god. He's honest and professional. He tells you what the options are and is very good at answering questions.
