Dr. Laurencia Dusantos, PhD

Overcharges and blames insurance company for not terminating her contract, when that's her responsibility, so charging out of network prices instead of allowable amount. Insurance rep stated she knows she her contract is active. I was willing to pay the out of network until I found out she was not being honest and when I asked for reimbursement of the overcharged amount she refused and refused to contact the insurance company. Very unprofessional. She also doesn't remember what was covered in previous sessions and doesn't stick to your goals. 8 visits and no treatment plan, you'll never finish so you'll continue paying.

I had been running around for years with no one able to find out what was wrong with my son. Dr. DuSantos came highly recommended by another parent she had helped. First of all, her staff was very helpful. Dr. DuSantos was very helpful, very knowledgeable and nice. She listened and explained everything going on so I could understand. She figured out what was going on with my son and helped me find the resources I needed as well to help my child. I highly recommend her.

I’m appalled by Dr. Dusantos’ behavior, verbiage and manipulative irresponsibility with her double booked appointments & then ultimately decided to seek a competent provider who respects patients time, right to elect to not to see “a doctoral student” instead of Dr. Dusantos as I had scheduled. Not to mention utter unprofessional environment and unpreparedness for the appointment. First appt was double booked, she took no responsibility for. Second appt went fine, she accepted child as pt. Third appt she had maintenance come in during the appt, she herself was physically moving and ordering furniture during my childs appt time. The last and final appt Dusantos tried bringing in a student to listen and do the appt for my child. Student, of whom myself and child have never met, were never notified of in any processing of making said appt, & would’ve sought other appt times to see Dusantos directly had I been notified, instead this was dropped last minute upon arrival after taking off… work and child out of school and in an hour of Labor Day traffic. I graciously declined and requested we don’t have any shadow students in any appts of which I declined. Dr. Dusnatos’ disrespectfully didn’t accept my choice as a paying customer, but most importantly parent making the best decision in best interest of my child and their current situation. Dusantos, then asked me to preface her again on what today’s appt was for, when the last time we saw her was...then a knock on their door. A pizza delivery man entered. Entered our appt, that I was paying for. Dusantos left appt got cash paid delivery guy... and then asked for CHANGE ?? I was so embarrassed over my poor choice of provider and instantly knew I had given enough gracious chances for this provider to get her act and scheduling book together. We left and will never return, for a Dr. to be incompetent enough to accept responsibility for cancelling an appt, to have the emotional knowledge and sympathy to ask before having a student in a sensitive session and to then not respect a paying client and parents decision to not have any appts scheduled with anyone but the provider is simply unacceptable. I will gladly take the time out of my day to warn any parent and person considering dr Dusantos. So hold off & wait for a competent and emotionally intelligent provider. This was a horrid experience, to also mention I’ve never been spoken to so disrespectfully, demeaning, condescending, manipulatively evil way than I was today by someone who calls them self a safe haven for those, especially my own child to be emotionally vulnerable with? Instead she attempted to emotionally attack me, the cautious parent, not even a patient of hers. BEWARE. I’ll be reporting to every venue possible.
