Dr. Lauri Patrice Givens, MD

Never returned my calls or portal messages when I called about pain after being diagnosed with a specific type of cyst for over 5 business days. Apparently had misdiagnosed me based on my follow up with another Dr at the practice. Then awkwardly called me after likely getting spoken to by the practice management and had the nerve to gaslight me and claim that I misunderstood or misheard her during our last appointment and diagnosis. Accepting responsibility would have gone a long way. Save yourself the trouble and go to literally anyone else. My experience has been wonderful at the same practice after switching doctors.

Dr. Givens is one of the best providers that I have ever seen. These poor reviews from prior years were when she was with a poorly managed company & overworked staff. This was not my experience with her at all at Lakeshore. I have been searching for answers for some of my conditions from many other specialists that she was able to answer, give me thorough advice on, & treatment options. She covered all of her bases and gave me more than what I ever anticipated as an OBGYN provider. I had went to my pcp & dermatologist for things that she was way more knowledgeable about! She took her time, listened to my needs, and brought things to my attention that I didn’t even recognize myself & no one else has ever even thought to bring up. I cannot recommend her enough. I would truly trust her with my life. I will say, I did wait a while in the waiting room as she tends to run behind but this is because she is SO thorough & takes her time with each of her patients. When you get into the room,… she never makes you feel rushed. She is WELL worth the wait & Id wait all over again just to see her.

Went in with cramps, she said she would perform a cerclage to close cervix to keep my baby in, then later changed her words and said she couldn’t do one and would have to ask someone else, and just suggested inducing labor. Refused to help in any other way but to say get induced. Baby ended up coming early and didn’t make it. Save yourself heartache and go somewhere else.

I had my yearly check up with Dr Givens today she was so kind understanding and I went to Winston-Salem to a dr didn’t get anywhere with him and Dr Givens orders some more test and sends me to another Dr at Davis she was very understanding with what was going on and jumped right in and explain to me things that I was not told even when I went to hospital so I would tell anyone if you need a good gynecologist she is the best Iove her

I took my daughter to see Dr. Givens because she was having heavy periods and get her on birth control. Dr. Givens was horrible! Her tone with her was horrible. The situation was never resolved. Our appointment was at 4:30 we didn't get seen until 6:00. My daughter said we've been here since 4:30 and her response was so have I. I've been here all day. She was rude and very unprofessional. She basically said with her situation she can't be on birth control and take the medicine she needs to take for her heavy bleeding. She wanted to put her on the Nuvring. My daughter is a virgin, she was not comfortable with using it. She got so upset, so she just said ok so we could leave. She left crying. Dr. Givens said when she becomes sexually active come back and see her. Which tells me there is something she can take. I wanted to get her on birth control before that so she don't get pregnant. She was again very rude and not caring what so ever. She called me the following week because I reported… her to the manager. During the call she had a delivery and was supposed to call me back Monday still waiting two weeks later. No return call yet. She cares nothing about her patience.

Extremely disappointed with the staff at this office to say the least. Do not expect a quick response with any question you might have. The woman on the phone whom I won't name was so rude/cruel I signed my transfer papers to a new doctor the next day. Dr.Givens seems like a great doctor and very knowledgeable however the people who call back and answer the phones are some of the worst I have ever dealt with. I will not be back due to this.

Doctor Givens has taken care of my wife and daughter beautifully. She delivered both of my grandchildren. Her care, consideration, and beside manner where refreshing. She has restored my faith in doctors! She makes you feel like a cared for individual and not just a number or the next financial donor.

Never met a more selfish doctor

This doctor advertises Saturday appointments are available, but when you try to make a Saturday appointment none are ever available. Very annoyed!

Poor bedside manners. Dr. Givens rushes you and when I presented concerns about side effects with medications she had the audacity to tell me she is the doctor and that I need to stay off the internet. She was just so direct and lack empathy. I felt like a number and not a patient . Worst experience ever. There is more to my experience but I rather not go into details. However, this review should help you lean towards another physician .
