She was ok I guess

I am a life long insomniac and Dr. Hammer is the best psychiatrist I have seen. This condition is harder to treat than you might think. She has been caring, compassionate and understands me as a whole person (i.e. what is currently contributing to the insomnia). She SI conservative about medication but I consider that a good thing. Over the past 10 plus years, I have been impressed with how up-to-date she is with the research on new medications. The office runs smoothly now but did not always. She actually will advocate for the patient when there is a problem with booking appointments are assignment to a clinician. A class act!!!!

Saw Dr Hammer for about a year. Learned more than in past 25 years.

I've been her patient for twenty years. She is always methodical, attentive, knowledgeable about meds and clinical medicine, and caring. I recommend Dr. Hammer wholeheartedly.

Doctor Hammer is extremely efficient. She is adept at diagnosis and at tailoring the treatment to the patient. She is caring, yet serious and focused. The office staff is superb. The only downside is that her hours are limited and she has to work within the parameters of the Comprehensive Psych Associates factory.

Dr. Hammer is careful with diagnosis and medication. I find her to be conservative about prescribing. I do have to wait but then when I am with her, she takes a lot of time and is engaged with me. The problems are with the staff and the way the practice is run which is sub par. Overall, my experience with Dr. Hammer has been excellent and I refer to her often.

Dr. Hammer's understanding of my complicated problems and empathy is amazing. She led me out overwhelming depression and anxiety with extreme patience and respect.I've known her for two years and although I need to visit her occasionally now, for medication renewal and follow-up, she remembers me like a close friend. She has become a source of ongoing support and comfort for me and has helped me to regain my self-confidence and hope. Anyone is lucky to have her as their psychiatrist.

This so called Dr. should NOT be in this field. She has no bedside manners whatsoever! She pushes meds without caring about the side effects! Does NOT diagnose properly! She just pushes meds without caring about the side effects! In fact she just made everything worse...to say the least! She is NEVER on time..and never gives you the time of day! She does not take into effect your personal experiences with meds..nor does she care. Her professional attitude towards the patient speaks for itself. In short if you are looking for someone to properly diagnose you DO NOT go to her. She in fact is just horrendous! I have never met someone so downright rude and totally unprofessional. If you are looking for someone to actually help you and take the time to properly listen to you, then look somewhere else. She made me 100 times worse! In fact you are probably better getting treatment in a State Facility..as she has NO regard for her patients as HUMAN beings. Please trust me on this one.

I went to her in order to relieve myself from a painful Paxil addiction. I clearly expressed my desire to get OFF this very addictive medication. Each time I visited, she acted as though she had no idea who I was and she reviewed my entire set of notes each and every visit as if it were my first time in her office. She asked me the exact same background questions within 10 days of my last visit every time, taking up much of the time alloted for the current visit. In the end, after many trials with many depression drugs, she ended up prescribing Effexor, to which I am now painfully weaning myself. I went to her to get off one addictive medication, and because of her complete disregard for me as an individual I am now going through a HORRIFIC 3 month weaning and withdrawal from Effexor... another horrible addictive med. Just ask my wife and kids how horrific it really is... I am basically impossible to live with at this point, with no end to my uncontrollable rages in sight. Thanks you… Dr. Hammer for your complete disregard for me as a human being. I should have just Googled "Effexor" instead of trusting you. I would have found out for myself how horrible this addiction is... go ahead... try it... just Google "Effexor" to read the horror associated with this crap.
