Dr. Lavone Elizabeth Simmons, MD

I had complicating of IUGR, Dr Simmons was positive all along the pregnancy. ON the 35th week I started bleeding , I informed my OBGYN and they ignored it. While Dr Simmons immediately realized there was something wrong and sent me to hospital. Thanks to her , I was under observation and had a smooth delivery with a healthy 5.9 pound baby boy.

We were assigned to Dr. Simmons when I was recommended to come to this facility as I was deemed a high risk patient for my pregnancy due to my recent coloctemy and my liver disease [PSC]. I also tend to have anxiety a lot and Dr. Simmons was always able to listen and explain everything that was going on, each step of the way, and in a way that made feel very relaxed, and I did not worry. Dr. Simmons even took the time to call me on the weekends to check up on me. No matter how many patients she took that day, we always felt like we were the first and most important patients. I just love Dr. Simmons and think anyone who has her as their doctor is very lucky. This is my second pregnancy and I like my first OB doctor very much, but Dr. Simmons is head and shoulders above my first experience.

Dr. Simmons was more than wonderful to both my husband and I. We were always sad when an appointment was with another doctor on her team. We felt so comfortable and at ease with Vonnie that we requested to only see her. We still talk about her to this day...she was such an important part of bringing our little miracle into the world.

Horrible doctor. At first, she seemed knowledgeable and caring and took all the time in the world, but once she thought I would consent to having a total hysterctomy, she wouldn't listen to any of my fears and rushed me to sign the paperwork and get out of there. She never even properly diagnosed my illness, just wanted to operate. Wouldn't recommend her to anybody.

I was matched up with Dr. Simmons randomly when I called the clinic and I my experience was more then I could have hoped for. Vonnie was kind, caring, and most importantly, extremely knowledgeable. We had a few complications arise and Vonnie was there every step of the way to explain everything thoroughly and made sure we were comfortable with everything and understood fully. Her nurse, Chris, also provided excellent care. I would recommend this team to anyone!

Dr. Simmons was the best Dr. I have ever dealt with. She was the only Dr. To diagnose medical problems I was having during pregnancy that could have put my baby at risk. I have never been so comfortable around a Dr. before her. She is the reason I have a beautiful healthy one year old and the reason my health is better as well. If you want a caring and very involved Dr. this is it! Love her!!

Dr. Simmons was in a hurry. She tried to "help" speed up the delivery and decided to put her hands in and manually twist my baby around from a sunny-side up position to a normal position. This tied the cord around his neck and choked him. When his heart rate dropped they had to do an emergency c-section. My baby was born dead and it took them 5 minutes to resucitate him. He ended up in NICU for almost 2 weeks because of Dr. Simmons laziness and poor judgement. DO NOT go to her. She will try to kill YOUR baby too...
