I couldn’t have a lower opinion of doctor. This guy is a truly awful human being. I had the unfortunate luck of running into this awful doctor at UConn Surgical Center. You see him enter your room you need to leave

I cannot say enough positive things about this doctor. I had an issue holding my pregnancy and after countless miscarriages, I decided to see a fertility specialist and came across Dr. Engmann. He assured me we will overcome my obstacle, which finally gave me hope after feeling helpless. After having me do routine blood work that I had done countless times with other specialists That I had seen previously, Dr. Engmann suggested a solution, Crinon. I literally didn’t suffer one miscarriage after his solution and I now have my healthy baby boy. I’m so grateful to him and the CARS staff in Hartford

I certainly don't feel that 1,5 year of treatment with the diagnosis of unexplained infertility as the result is the sign of professionalism.. especially since a year after I stopped going to CARS in Hartford I had a healthy pregnancy.. on my own..

It is difficult in this short space to put our entire experience. We went to this clinic 2 years ago, hopeful to have some support, and answers to our miscarriages. My initial appt I was pleased with the overall way I was treated , and I thought I had someone on our team to help us. It went downhill from there, with no more contact or follow up unless I initiated communication with a nurse ( after continuous phone tag) I never spoke to the Dr again, and in that time I unfortunately suffered 2 more losses. There was no extra guidance , my husband and I then went through expensive genetic testing and we were hopeful to get those results. I made my second appointment and was met with a blank / confused stare by the Dr asking me " was I there for fertility or for my miscarriages?" in disbelief I explained to him why I was there , and he glanced at the computer and very flippantly told me my test was inconclusive .... And the other main test that I had gone out of my way to have… done was not in the system ( never found it or bothered to look) To sum up the experience , he basically blamed my age , and sent me on my way. Office is sterile, cold feeling ... You are made to feel like a herd of cattle. I am fortunately now with a wonderful Reproductive immunologist who finally gave us time , respect , answers , and has not left our side. I wish I had a better review , and I am hoping that possibly my experience was not the norm ....

I was not happy with the service. There was no follow up after the service. When you receive bill at home at that time you find out that Dr. sis this test. You get surprise bills at home and when we try to reach call Dr. office to ask about billing information it goes into voice mail and they never call back.

Definitely I would not recommend to go to this doctor at all and he is unfit for Infertility treatment not only this doctor and most of the doctors in this group[Center for Advanced Reprod Svcs] are like that no professionalism and no empathy towards patients who wanted to conceive through medical advancement procedures. These guys did couple of IVF treatments and needless to say both were failures and I dont even blame for that but whats more disgusting is due to their improper diagnosis I was admitted in a hospital in an emergency situation where they had to major surgery to remove one of my fellopian tubes. These guys will even try to experiment with the new patients who are not knowledgeable about these procedures and they assign these tasks to Junior doctors who are inefficient.

I would not recommend to go to this doctor at all. Very offensive, did not diagnosed anything wrong with me, but said that he was sure that I got a lot of problems. He also did a surgical procedure which he confessed later was unneeded. Why do something that I do not even need to be done, to get more money?

Dr. Engmann presided over my three IVF cycles a few years ago, the last of which resulted in a healthy baby girl. I was over 40 so he recommended more hormonal and technological intervention than I'd initially anticipated, but he was always very straightforward and respectful in discussing the various options. (My advice is to press for the minimum level of intervention necessary, including a new low stim protocol that wasn't widely used then.) He was available day and night for questions, etc., and performed ultrasounds and other procedures on holidays. I liked his combination of wry humor (e.g., referring to "crappy embryos" when some appeared sub-par) and genuine empathy (expressed through concern when an ultrasound of my swollen ovary hurt slightly and celebration when I finally got pregnant). He was the best thing about a very challenging process -- in addition to the little girl who resulted from it!
