Dr. Lawrence Frieman, MD

I've been a patient for well over a decade. Dr. Lawrence Frieman is one of New Jersey's very best. I'll be frank... if you're looking for a talk show host kinda doctor or one who says, "Call me by my first name, bro!" then go elsewhere. If you want your eyes examined... and I do mean examined!... by someone who has untold experience and education, then go to Dr. Frieman. He doesn't sugarcoat, he doesn't "happy talk" you to death. He's a professional and is there to do one thing: Take care of your eyes. Don't think so? How about this: I had a sudden mass floater issue one afternoon when his office was closed. I called and left word with his answering service. Within minutes he called me back, listened to my problem and said to meet him at the office as soon as possible. And I did! He was in casual wear no less and I clearly interrupted something he was enjoying on his day off. He discovered I had a serious matter (a retinal tear) and the following morning he used a laser to repair it.… It was less than 24 hours from the time I had the issue to the time he took care of it! I was grateful beyond words. Friends, I don't care how many people weigh in here. Dr. Frieman genuinely CARES about your eyesight. That's the bottom line. Furthermore, his office staff and assistants are the nicest people you'll ever run across. Always pleasant, even when under pressure. I praise these folks because they're deserving. I praise these folks because that's been my experience since day one.

I visited Frieman Ophthalmology and Dr Lawrence Frieman a couple of years ago, he is a very emotionally abusive person. It was a horrible experience and I am still scarred by this ego maniac with anger issues two years later. No one should believe any of the positive ratings he has here. In fact the doctor who referred me to this monster warned me in advance that he did not have the best personality or bedside manner. What adds fuel to the fire is that the staff is just as nasty as he is. Typical when the fish stinks from the head, that it rots the rest of the body. This office should be closed down, they do not deserve to practice freely

We have benn seeing Dr. Frieman over several decades and have found him to be a very fine and caring professional.

Two years ago I went to see Lawrence Frieman for my annual eye exam. Upon looking in my eyes, he detected cells that were not supposed to be there. This eventually led to a diagnosis of Central Nervous System Lymphoma, an extremely rare cancer. Thankfully, due to his expertise and concern, I was able to immediately seek cancer care and am now cancer-free. The office is wonderfully run and very professional. They also have an optical store on the premises-Seaview Optical.

Dr. Frieman not only knows what he's doing, he cares about the welfare of his patients as well. And that professionalism extends to his excellent staff.

Dr Frieman is such a concerned doctor. He answers all of your questions and wants to make sure you are well informed and comfortable with the explanations. He is an excellent doctor. The office staff is also wonderful.

Dr. Lawrence Frieman has been my opthamologist for about 20 years now & have no reason to go anywhere else. Yes he can be very abrupt but he knows what he is doing & acts on it, no messing around & wasting time.Office staff are fantastic, Shelly & Susan fully deserve to be recognised also.

This eye doctor is rude, arrogant, does not answer questions, and greedy. He performed a $65 test that was unnecessary given what I saw him for, which my insurance company refused to pay for it. Otherwise my insurance and I paid thousands for all the related tests and procedures. The doctor would not write off his $65 mistake and gave this balance to collection!!!

Being in the medical field and having a complicated medical history, I am extremely particular about the doctors I see for medical care. That’s why I chose Dr. Frieman to treat 2 chronic eye conditions I have suffered from since my 20s. With outstanding credentials and state-of-the-art equipment, he delivers exemplory care while at the same time treating patients with compassion and respect. The office is efficient, the staff friendly, and appointments consistently run on time!
