Dr. Aimee Leigh Eichen, MD

My husband and I have used doctor Eichen for a number of years and have always found her to be medically excellent and very caring. One could ask for no more.

Dr. Eichen was so lovely and very professional. On the other hand, the office staff is beyond rude and I would never go back, more specifically, the "office manager," who is more of a glorified secretary with no customer service skills or manners. In a nutshell I called because they charged me the incorrect copay......not a big deal. I called and asked for a refund since the EOB confirmed that they overcharged me. The women at the front desk accused me of handing her the wrong card (not sure how that is possible I only have one card). I explained that I handed her the correct card that I was looking at the EOB with the correct amount. I asked her for the fax number to send the EOB over so she could see for herself. She explained that it has to come from United Healthcare..also no problem. I asked to please speak to the office manager. The "office manager" got on the phone and became extremely aggressive towards me over a simple matter as being overcharged and requesting a… refund, I was entitled to as per United Healthcare. I asked a simple question of how long would it take to get a refund and if they call insurance companies to verify copay amounts..she told me that is not her job nor does she have time to do that...that set her off. I called United Healthcare and the representative stated the EOB was mailed to the office and United Healthcare cut a check and that the representative would even call the office with the information. The representative from United Healthcare called the office with me on the line. The "office manager" began to say horrible things about me on a three way call, all while I was on the phone listening. Then started getting nasty with the United Healthcare representative that it was her fault she should have informed her I was on the call. The office staff is EXTREMELY unprofessional, disgusting, and most of all AGGRESSIVE. Perhaps they should have a class on customer service and also realize it is a doctors office. They treated me, a paying patient, with such disrespect over a matter that was completely their fault, as they claim they are "too busy" (more like too lazy) to call and verify co-payment amounts prior to patient appointments. Dr. Eichen-hopefully you read this and re-evaluate the women who sit in the front of your office as you will lose patients.

I have been a patient of Dr Eichen for 10 years now, and I have never met a more caring and professional health professional . She is very experienced takes her time ,and you never feel rushed. She is also an excellent cataract surgeon. And her office staff are very friendly and helpful.

Dr Eichen put me at ease for a thorough exam dealing well with my apprehension. I felt confident that her advice was on target.
