Dr. Lawrence B Katzen, MD

I had eye surgery at this clinic many years ago. My surgery was successful and for many years I returned for a yearly examination. At that time I had medical insurance at this time I do not. I was told that this clinic is now under new ownership. It sounds like it has been taken over by a money grubbing bunch of scam artists to me. I asked them what the price was for the examination without insurance. All they would tell me is that it was $194.00 to walk in the door. Then once they decide how much they want to jack up the bill after the examination they will tell me the cost. I have had the exact same examination for a decade or more in that place. I asked them to tell me what last years examination would cost me this year both arrogant women I spoke with refused to tell me. They wanted me to return to the Katzen Krook Klinic with a blank check. This is what’s wrong with the medical industry I asked fair questions and was refused answers by a mismanaged money grubbing medical… operation. People go to this clinic to prevent blindness but it appears they want everything else done to you to be through a cloak of blindness. When I decide to get it insurance again I won’t be attending this facility. I left them know I would posting a review of the call in the internet. As per what comes in most customer service handbooks these days they gave me permission to do what I wanted to. Under the old management this was a great facility. Under the likely by low streamline and sell high facility. They should be embarrassed to be as callous misleading and entitled as they are. There should be a low against walking in and having no idea what your bill will be when you leave. On top of it all when I got off the phone with them I did some research and found out that my Doctor Lawrence Katzen had passed away. They didn’t advise me that I would have to see someone new. I wouldn’t have gone there anyway regardless of price. Doctor Katzen was a great man and a great surgeon it’s a shame that his clinic has been turned over to corporate machine that clearly needs oiling.

Great surgeon restored my vision with no side effects. I se better than I have in 20 years.

For those of you who like to participate in your health care (in this case, eye care) with the doctor...who like to ask questions of the doctor when there is a problem and expect a response, Dr. Katzen is not your doctor. We have found the doctor is unforthcoming and wants to go through his routine without speaking to you or giving results after he is finished unless asked. He'd rather that the patient just shut up. As far as his surgeries go, we give him credit for good results.

I would highly recommend Dr. Katzen to anyone who asks about my lasik procedure and experience. I have already began to have an increase in my overall enjoyment of life. A life with good vision and no limitations to new experiences is the best decision I've made.

The staff is professional and friendly. Dr. Katzen is a class act. My vision now is tremendous. So thankful for their service. I'll refer and recommend everyone to consider Katzen Eye Care and Laser Center as their first choice.

If you have cataracts or want LASIK this is the place to go. My grandkids went there for LASIK and took me there. I got my cataracts removed and replaced with multifocal IOL and I don't wear glasses anymore

Katzen and staff are far superior than any other Lasik surgeon in the area. I visited 4 facilites for my surgery and chose Dr. Katzen. His staff is amazing and he is very cautious when it comes to performing lasik. Everything had to be just so, had to repeat a few measurements to confirm I would have an excellent result and I did! 20/15 day after surgery!
